As a frequent flyer with Cyprus Airways,I am contantly amazed at how many work days a year are lost through strike action.
They have some of the most highly paid pilots, ground crew and service personnel in the world, and yet they continue to demand better working hours and benefits.
Please sack the lot re-employ from a different airline and get thet show back on the road.

You can say "the greedier get greedier", the amount of money their on is fairly good for Cypriot wages. It might have something to do with sacking many of their staff a few years back.

I remember some time ago there were people in Cyprus Airways earning silly money (ridiculous), most of them were doing overtime as well. For one reason or another this stopped, and now the have the strikes.

The recent strike was not related to Cyprus Airways flights, but instead it's deal with swissport. As you know your normally greeted with Cyprus Airways staff at check-in. Swissport is a company specialised in aircraft ground handling and global cargo. Cyprus Airways decided to sell that part of it's business to swissport, a company operating in over 40 countries. Result, everybody in Cyprus Airways does a strike.
