I have been informed that I cannot vote in the forthcoming election as I have been resident for less than 6 months.

Will I also be excluded from this election because I am not up to scratch on all requirements?

Hey oracle there was another member of the forum just recently who was in an almost identical (some might say uncannily similar) situation to you .Cant remember the name just now ...Fee Nix or something similar any ways I'm sure she would be able to give you good advise

Too much work on mate

Had to pay for the wife to go over to cast her vote

why?????all the parties are sending people overto cyprus for free. You just need to go to a party and have someone vouch for her that she supports the selected idiot and then presto! you're in cyprus courtesy of DIsy DIKO or Akel

Well duh! What do you think? :?

I am not argumentative by nature ... but I would have thought that having been put officially in the "non-voting" camp by the RoC then the very least you could do is acknowledge me as non-native whilst I re-evolve into a native in the next 6 months. :D

Did that a couple of times in the 80s and early 90s but it seems recently that the parties are only interested in the student vote.

Anyway shes off out on Wednesday and back on Monday so I get a few days peace and quiet and Cheap ciggies to boot .

Sheer coincidence

Having read her outrage at the amount of time she wasted trying to educate some racist froth who went round assuming GCs teach their kids to hate, I don't think we would be able to entice this phoenix out of retirement.

I am sure she does not have endless energy and unlimited supplies of wisdom to keep her tied to this forum forever. 8)

Well GR, I voted in your poll, cos, I am considered to be a brit (foreigner) when in Cyprus and a cypriot (foreigner again) when in the UK. So now I am well and truely F ****** confused if I fit into you prerequisites or not. Who gives a F anyway.

So I vote Tpap, now to me all the politicians are all the same shit, the are for their own throats and that of their immediate families, I don't care. If its not politician A its politician B and as we have to have them then I just put up with it.

My reason is pure and simple. TPap will not (IMHO) sell us down the shitter to the Turks and other outsiders. The other 2 dickheads will do so after they have taken their cut

Its a question of patriotism, TPAP will only agree to a fair and just solution and I believe that the others will be happy to cut us loose just to look good.

Good enough reason for you??

I will vote for Tassos for the same reasons. I like Christofias also but I don't agree with him about the Cyprus problem.

I think most people are voting for Tasos, for the same reasons as yourself. It seemed that the politicians showed their true colours when the votes were cast for Annan's Plan, and for that reason (and other reasons) we will probably keep the same president.
