The President Spokesperson Hasan Erçakıca has said that the visit expected to be paid to Cyprus by the UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Lynn Pascoe, could be the start of a new process on the Cyprus issue.

`Although the program of the visit has not yet been officially fixed, it is almost certain that he will pay a visit to the island` he said, adding that the results of the election in the South are being expected to set a day for that.
The spokesperson said that Mr Pascoe will be in Cyprus for a working visit and that the visit cannot be seen as a new initiative on the Cyprus issue.
But, he expressed the view that it could spark the start of a new process.
