MEHMET ALI TALAT

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

And the GC woman you met one day in the street is the same like the leader of the Turkish Cypriot community. Wonderful!

You conveniently overlook Talat is first a human like the rest of us (and the women in the street, it was a dinner party actually) and has a personal life, he may want his children to marry a TC this is normal, first choice is your own nationality but he does say what can you do if they fall in love. Plus people can have business partnerships with Germans English etc doesnt mean you want your children to marry them, this is a natural response, but I have to be honest and say if my daughter said she wanted to marry a eg Frenchman although I would be disappointed I would tollerate it but for some reason I couldnt stomach a GC and object perfusely.

Being the leader of a community or a country, you must set an example. The avarage person in the street is allowed to say whatever he/she wants. The leader is not!

So being a leader means you have to compromise your beliefs feelings call it what you will, so the Queen of England should have allowed her children (or ex daugher in law) to marry a muslim or a black person, why has it never happened, welcome to the real world.

I went out with a TC girl. She was nice. Unfortunately it didn't progress. I don't care much about ethnicity. Its the person that counts. Many TC and GC mix in the UK and there have been plenty of mixed marriages. In any case, we all have mixed in the past. Cypriots (TC and GC) suffer from the same hereditary diseases which Turkish mainlanders do not have. What does that tell you?

Is this really worth justifying a response? You have heard of Thalassimia I presume. Of course quite a proportion of TC's were actually indigenous greeks that converted to Islam during Ottoman rule but I guess you are too proud to accept that.

But I am a GC so I MUST be wrong.
