How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Murat Kanatli, population in the occupied areas 500.000

Postby RAFAELLA » Thu Feb 07, 2008 6:25 pm

Murat Kanatli stated that the population in the occupied areas of Cyprus has reached 500 thousands

Turkish Cypriot daily Kibris newspaper (07.02.08 ) reports that the secretary of the executive council of the New Cyprus Party (YKP) Murat Kanatli held a press conference yesterday and said that at present the population in the occupied part of Cyprus has reached 500 thousands and it is very difficult for the existing infrastructure to maintain this number. He urged that a stop be put to bringing in people from Turkey and he said that taking into consideration the human rights situation the people brought over from Turkey should be reduced gradually.

He said that the people brought from Turkey are the main element of usurping the right to elect and to be elected of the Turkish Cypriots and eliminating their free will. He said that to this effect they have prepared a report and submitted it to the political groups in the European Parliament and to the members of the Contact Group. He went on and said that they will submit this report to the EU term presidency, Slovenia, the EU Commission’s Office in Cyprus to be distributed to other relevant bodies.(MHY)

Yeah that's what we did last time, and look where it got us.

If this is "our" country then why don't you speak up about our rights and tell everyone what we SHOULD be doing as opposed to what we SHOULD NOT be doing, so that people don't have to leave this island in the search of prosperity and turn us into a minority in our own lands, will that not really serve your ultimate goal? Whats the deal?

Sorry, Shah, have I miss understood you, but are you actually asking us to support and help you maintain the illegal occupied part of OUR country. Are you actually asking us to welcome the troops and support your puppet state government with the handling of the settlers? because thats how it sounds to me. You have to be kidding me right. You are the very people that have made and support this mess and its up to you to sort it and quick otherwise you won't have a country you can call yours.

The cheek!

Oh right, what happened to "this is our country" "it was the doings of both of us" i guess it was just a temporary attack of love you had there which has clearly disappeared now.

We do have a country we call our own thank you, it is called the TRNC, and until we have a better option this is the way it will be. Plus i think it is you who needs to get you arse in gear so that you might see you properties again. Either way, we will still be living here and i personally have no wishes to be in the South, but if you want to be up here then you better start changing the same old record because this does not sound like someone who is accepting their wrong doing, rather like someone who is trying to blackmail his compatriots in order to continue what they couldn't achieve before.

Shahmaran ... you could not possibly be stating that you do not want to visit the south freely ...... as would be the case if the nightmare was over...

It is Human nature to be curious at least ...

I have fulfilled my curiosity with a couple of trips when the whole thing begun, i mean i have been looking over the fence all my life so obviously it had to be done, but since, i honestly don't find anything there that drew me back. Plus they gave me crap at the border about how i should get a RoC id card, which i wont so i don't think they will let me through again, I'm not really dying to find out either.

Plus i live far from the gates so i cant be arsed to travel all the way there just so i can get ripped off in the South with overpriced everything!

Turk leaves Turk arrives has been perverted to TC leaves three Turks come in. You aint seen nothing yet. Wait till you have elections and see the TC parties get the bird. You have your Enosis and your Partition, enjoy them while the illusion lasts.
