Postby GorillaGal » Thu Feb 07, 2008 3:12 pm

are there any poor people in CY? i am talking homeless, or those that have to scrounge for food, or get a free meal somewhere? (my community has scheduled churches every day that give out a free meal to those in need.) how does the government deal with the poor (assuming there are poor there). are there any orphanages in CY?

Little Match Girl Karma?
what matches did you set up for me? i think there is a very special guy in Larnaca that would be a perfect match, but we have to convince him.

now what about those poor and orphaned in CY? are there any? we have our share here in USA, and have seen more in other countries, but did not see any poor, hungry two legged people in cyprus. only the furry 4 legged kind.

The only way to convince him is murdering his mom and the only person who can do it is The Match Girl incase she gets the flat in NY
Havent u watched ''The Match Point'' , Woody Allens' movie :?:

If U really need to help the poor people, just visit once Jamaica Center in NY...U dont have to look for them in Cyprus, in every country there are poor and rich, good and bad, slim and fat people

There are some orphans here, and they live in houses of 6-8 with a house "Mother" they all eat together etc and its really like having a big family. They stay in that same "family" until they have finished their education and are able to support themselves - (minimum age 18). I With regards homeless - no, not as such, sleeping in doorways etc but very poor people (usually out of work Turkish mainlanders) live in shared room accomodation called Pansyions, and they can be very ( and I mean very, very) basic.

I really don't know, to be honest, they make a big thing about them being brought up in a family unit, so maybe not. Theres not actually that many really, because the Cypriots are very loyal to families and Aunts, Uncles etc etc even Grandparents would bring the child/children up within their family. The ones in these state homes are the ones which (unusually) do not have that option.

i am not planning anything. like even if i was planning, it wouldn't work out to my benefit, it never does.

my special GC friend won't marry me because i can't have kids. i was trying to point out that we could always adopt. i have a feeling he wouldn't ever want to adopt, but maybe if i pushed the poor little cypriot kids thing, i have no problem with adopting some kids. i always wanted kids, i just would never have any without a partner.
