Cyprus Life ........ A Perpetual Holiday?

Postby phoenix » Wed Feb 06, 2008 7:59 pm

Can one live a normal life on Cyprus ... or is every day a holiday? :D

When does reality kick in?

I've been here nearly a month (that's a long time for me to be doing the same thing) ... and it still feels like I am on holiday.

The sun shines 99% of the time, I stroll by the sea every day, the food is exceptional, drink is plentiful and unlimited ... the people are in a permanent state of "relaxed"... 8)

Those of you who have settled here permanently ... please tell me, does the holiday atmosphere ever end ... when does real life begin? ... you know, the rat race, grime, misery, poor weather, despondency, the familiar etc.

Or is Cyprus the perpetual holiday island? :?

We came here mid July and it was WONDERFUL!!! Beaches, eating outdoors, sailing, so many things to do, 2 month holiday!

For me reality almost hit when school and 6am starts began mid September.

Absolutely nothing like the reality of the UK though!! 8) If you think this is good wait till June! :D

OK Niki ..... you have adapted

But I really need to see some sign of reality ......

I guess you get a HUGE Tax Demand at some point, or an inflated Council Tax Bill, or an exhorbitant Water Rates invoice ....

The car tax is ridiculous so far ..... apart from legging it to most places to meet officials in person, instead of via phone / letter..... it's all been a doddle

The bubble must pop

phoenix as far as I can understand you aren't working in Cyprus. If you did I am sure it would have poped a long time ago.
