This is our island, and we will never capitulate to any foreign invadors with some capitulation agreement.

I'm certain beyond a shadow of a doubt that the people of Cyprus will reject any plan that legalizes the presence of foreign troops on our soil , Turkish or Greek and it grants Turkey or Greece the right to intervene in any part of Cyprus. The future generations will reject it even if the present accept it.
Piratis says this is our island , I'm certain that he also includes our compatriots the T/Cs as our equals in a political environment.

Yeah, according to you Enosis was also your "democratic right", I'm glad your understanding of democracy does not affect my life anymore.

Of course enosis was the democratic right of Cypriots. "integration into an independent State" was a legitimate option for the people of a territory being decolonized to choose in a democratic way.

The democratic choices of people are taken by the majority and affect everybody. This is how democracy works.

The Cypriots have every right for freedom and self-determination. You came to this island in order to enslave us and exploit our island. I guess it was fine when you ruled for 3+ centuries against the will of the great majority of the Cypriot people, but when the Cypriot people wanted to take their own democratic decisions for their own island thats not OK for you

Whatever, read your history and stop making shit up, when "we" came you were someone else's slave, and the Ottomans gave you more rights than you ever had, so you turn around and take ours because?!

Because its your democratic right? Save it man

Which ancient Greek thinker was it that said, democracy is the worst out of all systems?

I think this is a great example of it, and Turkey is another, when the majority are bunch of selfish dicks who don't know better, the minority has to fight!

let me get this straight Shah. Your argument now is against democracy? You don't believe this system should be used by the Western world anymore?

DO you have an alternative system in mind?

Not my argument at all, i am just responding to that guy up there who likes to justify everything that has been done to us Cypriots by either exploiting democracy or human rights, while he also claims that we are all Cypriots and can live in peace, he does not forget to add that we are the unwelcome guest who have enslaved the "indigenous" people of this island for centuries and deserve whatever we get because it is their "democratic right".

I honestly haven't heard much shit here that would beat this one stink wise, but there you go, he has been repeating it for years, and accepts no less.

Clearly something is wrong here, either with us Cypriots, with the system, or with his beliefs, because there are thousands of people out there who would totally disagree with him yet are FOR democracy.

So i would go for the latter.
