What Euro coins, apart from Cypriot Euro coins, have you had in change?

If you have, please let us know which country/countries,denominations,& dates?

There's 100 Euro-Cents in 1 Euro.

Here's a link to assist you in identifying which countries your Euro coins are from; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euro_coins .

To date, and I only occasionally visit the South, one Greek 20c and one German little coin (1c or 5c can't remember). They stand out immediately because they are not bright, shiny and new like the Cypriot ones. Sorry, don't know the dates as I didn't think anyone would be interested.

See how nice we are when you are polite.

I had a German 50 cent coin on Monday. I also had one with a horse and the letters "R B" on it which I can't find on the Wikipedia reference you have given, so I don't know where that was from.
I would estimate that about 2% of the coins in circulation are now Greek, which shows how much contact there is between Greece and Cyprus. I wonder if there are a lot of Cypriot coins already circulating in Greece.

That's what I thought as well when I got it, Richard. However, a glance at the Wikipedia article which Aidan has given a link to shows that it wasn't. The Belgian ones carry a picture of the king.

I have solved the mystery. It was an Italian 50 cent piece. The memory played a slight trick as to the letters.

Tim,the monogram on the Italian Euro coins is 'R I',which stands for 'Repubblica Italiana' (Italian Republic).

The most common Euro coins that we see over here in New Zealand are the German & Dutch ones,as my boss, who is a coin dealer, buys them in as currency.I've found some of the harder dates in the Irish Euro coin series (from 2003 onwards) that way & bought them basically for face value.

I nearly had a five knuckle shuffle when I saw some Italian coins in my change but then felt a little deflated when I realised I was losing grip of the situation and they were there before we changed over to the Euro
