It goes to show that fanatics exist everywhere , just look at this forum , and that these fanatics can be easily manipulated by propaganda. The Cypriot people , and these are the people that matter to us right now , right here, are on the whole peaceful , family orientated and civilized . We do not in Cyprus have a record of savagery. We lived together for hundreds of years , the fanatics are the culprits and those whose only goal is to cement the schism of our island and our people . There are those that actualy believe that their poisonous views are helping their " side " well I can only describe their contribution as vulgar and non constructive . Carry on with poisonous views and the future generations will suffer just as we did.

Yes I want a united Cyprus , and yes the ROC is not perfect and it is making grave mistakes and I abhor these errors , but it is the ONLY REPUBLIC THAT IS CREDIBLE , because it is RECOGNISED by the International community and IT IS NOT UNDER THE OCCUPATION OF GREECE. There is NO article 301 , I can telephone the Mayor of Limassol and complain about the Greek flag flying on the Municipal gardens , I can complain, and I have done , to the priest of Ayios Nicolaos for flying a Greek flag.CAN ANYBODY IN OCCUPIED CYPRUS , COMPLAIN TO THE TURKISH ARMY ?? The piece you posted Boomerang, has already been posted here and discussed and discussed and regurgitated and discussed again, the man who was accused of causing the Pogrom (Adnan Menderes), who was overthrown by a military coup has been tried and sentenced to death, eventually hanged. The Pogrom was triggered off by the false news of the Greeks supposedly bombing Ataturks house in Selanik, i think it was.

The house of Ataturk was indeed bombed, but it was Turkish agents who did it, under direct orders from Ankara. Menderes was not executed because of the pogrom, he was not even charged for that horrible crime

Menderes might have been hanged but the property of Istanbul Greeks was never given back.

The final account is telling. Of the 200 000 Istanbul Greeks there are less than 2000 left. Of the 80 000 Turks in western Thrace now there are 150 000 and elect local councils and three members of Parliament.
