State terrorism and racism in Greek South Cyprus.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

It seems to me that it is indeed very painful, if ever, for them to face the truth about Turks, which is something other than the bedtime stories they have been brought up by, most of them seem to be clueless about our past while their historical arrogance is astonishing to the degree of extreme racism and chauvinism, yet they have the audacity to blame the Turks for being extremely nationalistic! :?

I'm glad that the Ottomans have thought them a good lesson about being so arrogant!

The Byzantines left behind Ayia Sofia, the Romans left the Colosseum, the Athenians the Parthenon. What great monument have the Ottomans bequethed humanity? And please do not mention some wanker's palace. I mean monument for public use.

Come to Turkey and see with your own eyes Nikitas, or just wonder around any ex Ottoman land.

Colosseum being the place where they feed humans to lions along with an audience and cheers for hoe many centuries? Very nice indeed. :?

So no specifics? "come and see" is not enough, there must be at least one great monument that immediately comes to mind when one thinks of the Turks...

There is not much to know of the Turkish culture, but your history I know quite well

shahmaran wrote:If they were so inferior why did you get replaced?

Not so marvelous now are you?

No, not so marvelous now, that's what I said before, the Turks destroyed all that was to marvel in the lands they occupied.

shahmaran wrote:Natural selection is constantly at work my friend, no one can deny it. Nations constantly eliminate each other, so do ALL living things, it is the way towards progress, the law of nature.

Unfortunately for you this selection does not go via culture but via survival instincts and the Turks are survivors.

Thank you, I couldn't have said it better myself. Natural selection has nothing to do with culture, it's the very same "law of nature" that the Nazis claimed they were serving, remember? Natural selection is also the law that dictates that healthy individuals should bite the disabled, the deformed and the mentally challenged to death, but thankfully we are cultured enough to not do that.

shahmaran wrote:You actually believe that the Hellenic Empire was only expanded through taking over "inhabited" lands with no violence nor atrocities?

The Greeks expanded through trade, the lands they went to were partly inhabited by local tribes who were hellenized peacefully and harmonically. The only Greek expansionist campaign was that of Alexander the Great, where the goal was to end the Persian threat who had already brought two wars to Greece.

shahmaran wrote:The Ottoman Empire simply replaced the Byzantine Empire, which was equally violent. The Greeks were not the angels of a very dark age, they were just as animistic as the next.

Noone and nothing was ever "equally violent" to the Turks.

shahmaran wrote:So save your bigoted ideas about the Turks and go open some history books.
Funny, you should follow your own advice[/quote]

1000 years of history, the building of numerous nations, yet there is nothing to know :?

An empire that was expanded through "peace and harmony" and the Byzantine Empire being non-violent! The Crusades wouldst be any point of interest for you would it.

I shall not debate with you any further and allow you to dwell in your own ignorance.
