The fact that the "RoC" will exploit ANY situation it can get it's hands on to stop us from ever getting a fair deal in Cyprus is why the Turkish troops are there in such numbers.......The "RoC" is keen to hav them removed because it will be almost impossible for them to ever return when and not if the "RoC" upgrades its attack capabilities whether it be troops or weapons. As the so called legitimate government of Cyprus upgrades because it can and Turkey moves in troops to counter, then Turkey will look like the aggressor which is exactly what the "RoC" wants....It will create a win win situation and the danger of conflict will increase. The ordinary GC should be grateful that the peacekeepers are there. (Now I will sit back and wait for sarcastic remarks about my last comment while everything else I said is ignored) [/code]

Zan , when you say the "so called legitimate government of Cyprus " do you mean the Government that ALL NATIONS recognise ???
Put me out of my misery mate also tell me , the peacekeepers you are referring to , are they by any chance the Foreign troops that keep our 200 thousand Cypriots from their ancestral homes ???
Get a sense of proportion mate , face reality !!!

Why don't you face the reality of our Cyprus Republic no longer existing because of Tpaps tricks and that the "RoC" is not that same republic....

Once and for all that figure of 200, 000 does not exist....Over 40,000 went back as soon as it was over...Stop quoting from the RoC" propaganda pages.....There has been other settlements since and if your so called government had not lied to the rest as to exchanges being illegal then maybe all would have been resolved by now.....Keeping those people at refugee status is another crime that Tpap should be made accountable for but I do not see you protesting about that either. Your kind of reality doesn't doesn't seem to suit the rest of the world...

Are you saying that 40 thousand went back to their homes ???!!!
Anxiously awaiting clarification , who were those 40 thousand that went back ??

Did you not follow the thread when Piratis was spoutin those numbers and he made himself look a complete fool mate   We have had this discussion before and it has been concluded and that is why Piratis does not use them any more...The Greek propaganda used the 40,000 that were to afraid to move back into homes that were too close to the border but as soon as they felt safe they moved back...Shows how scared these people are of the Turkish Army...  If there are any honest GCs on this forum then might confirm this and save me the trouble of looking for it..I hope this will teach you that you are being fed propaganda and that you might have anothrer look at facts....

The aggressiveness of Turkey and its expansionist aspirations against Cyprus

• Ensevaled and occupied the northern part of
• Removed the Greek population
• Transfer illegal Turkish settlers who have distorted the demographic composition of the island
• It prevents the discovery of the missing persons
• It destroyed the cultural heritage of the Greeks of Cyprus
• Changed the Greek toponymy
• illegally seizes property of Greeks in Cyprus
• Preserves since 1974 strong military force in an aggressive anti-free territories
• systematically violates the sea and airspace of Cyprus with:
-- Military Exercises
-- Exercises Research Rescue
-- Flights of Martial Aircraft
-- War ship

so bottom line is what the TC'S go on about protection etc etc,,is a load of BS...

The reason why there are 40,000 Turkish troops in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is very clear pal, to keep the likes of you, Kiefeas, Piratis , Get Real and not to forget the little mad and utterly racist puppet master "phoenix" in your places so that you do not dare to attempt to genocide us Turkish Cypriots again for your ENOSIS dream.

Get used to it pal, they are in the Turkish Republic of Cyprus to stay as long as you GCs do not give up your greedy dreams of turning Cyprus into another Greek island.

I can do better than that DT.........

(1) In 1974 the actual number of refugees was 201,000. But about 40,000 people who became refugees in 1974 because they lived in dangerous areas close to the line of occupation but within the Government Controlled Area returned to their homes in 1977.

Hope you do not have a problem with the source....
