But I keep getting poo-pooed as soon as I ask anyone official whether I need to make any applications for anything formal.

It seems being born here has established some rights that even being away 40 years doesn't seem to have faded. I'm still not convinced :?

Even whilst I was doing the second stage of the lengthy dog - registration procedure in the government Veterinary department, the nice secretary there kept saying everything was automatic for me as I spoke Greek ... :?

.... But what if the UK puts up a fight for me ... surely I meant something to them back there :(

They’ll have a big tug-o-war over you prolly…

I would have thought if you have a British Passport you would need a residency Visa??

As for the UK wanting you back, I don't think so, you dislike them far too much for that!

I've just been reading this topic & am getting very confused, Well not confused worried, I received my yellow slip about 2 weeks ago, I get my ID card next week. my brown Alien book says it is valid for ever, the yellow slip dosen't say anything about renewal at any time.
My son & daughter-in-law have been here a year he's going for his ID card tomorrow ( dosen't need Alien book because he's of Cypriot decent) but Daughter-in-law needs to register for residency, they have left it a year & didn't register after the 3 months as everyone in their area told them they didn't have to as EU citizens. will let you know how they get on!!!

On a serious note now I wonder how many folk are actually here in Cyprus illegally because they haven't registered within the first three months ~ they are probably sat in there lovely Cyprus villa right now blissfully unaware there is a problem.

Makes you wonder doesn't it

I expect that most people will register - as soon as they appreciate the reduced levels of tax they'll pay here on their incomes.
