"Sling yer bleeden 'ook"

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

"Sling yer bleeden 'ook"

Postby Eliko » Sun Feb 03, 2008 9:11 pm

I was speaking to an old English chap who was quite interested in the fact that I am in Cyprus as he was here some Seventy years ago as a young man.

In the course of the telephone conversation, I did mention the fact that there is a certain amount of disharmony here due to the invasion of 1974.

When I informed him that there about 40,000 Turkish troops occupying the North of the island, he uttered a throaty growl and came up with the answer to the problem.

"Tell'em to sling yer bleeden 'ook mate, g'won sling yer bleeden 'ook".

I wonder if that might work, what do members think ?.

Those old folks flats are the ones I like working in best......I have worked in some hovels and a little old lady of 92 brought a tear to my eye when she apologised for not climbing up a ladder and dusting the top of her fuse board. "Sling yer bleeding ook" I said to her and cleaned the top of it for her, she then tried to give me a tip of five pounds...Five bloody pounds.....I am lucky to get a cup of tea in some places and refuse often because I don't want to catch something, and this lady tries to give me half her bloody pension.
