fleeing to another country!

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

fleeing to another country!

Postby Leffette » Sat Feb 02, 2008 6:22 pm

I was reading a post that TC are fleeing to England for a better future. Why does this surprise you. Greek Cypriot who live in Cyprus still find Cyprus not good enough and they immigrate as well. How much more the TC in the Occupied Cyprus. (I don't call it Turkish side, because to my opinion it is not...it is occupied and it is a CYPRUS occiped side).

Even Americans and Canadians go to other countries for a "different" living.

The Europeans leave their countries for a "different" living. They are ashamed to say for a better living.

Because if your country is well to do, but you can't be happy in it, then yes the reason you immigrate is for a better living.

Money is not everything you know, one needs to live in peace as well.

Because the grass is always greener on the other side and some places apparently have streets paved with gold

When it's found that work and living is just as hard as where they come from the new place loses it's appeal and they become disillusioned.

A few are escaping problems but end up taking them with them and of course there's quite a few that are happy where ever they are

I don't think the converse is true.

There aren't many GCs leaving the RoC that don't return ....... perhaps a few students leaving for educational reasons and maybe meeting someone abroad, who delays their return for a while.

But if TCs are leaving, and nor for study, and then hibernating in London like Zan and Denizaksulu, T_C and 74LB etc.... then there must be something terribly wrong with the so called-TRNC ...

All is not well in the land of the 43,000 Turkish troops ...... oh and a few(er) TCs.

In Nineteen Hundred and Forty Four

The sky was full of lead

As Hitler headed for London Town

And Paddy for Hollyhead.

Could that be because of the influx of TCs?

I have told this story before but a friend of mine went to RSA three years ago and kept on going about the foreigners in the UK spoiling it for them and that is one of the reasons for him leaving. He kept on and on about this without thinking that I might take offense for a start and jokingly one day, when I had had enough I said "Stop running my country of England down. You are going but I have to live here and you make me feel like I am staying on a sinking ship". He laughed but his face soon changed when I asked him what he would be in RSA....."Will you not be one of those foreigners in someone else's country" I said. The penny dropped and he stopped his moaning. His business there failed after two years and he is now back here starting afresh because he lost all his money.

People emigrate for various reasons, but the fact that such a large percentage of the Turkish Cypriot population is now in the diaspora is particularly unsettling.

A similar trend occurs with New Zealanders,as all is not well over here. The pay rates are shite.Corruption by the openly bigoted & wankocratic politicians is rampant.Racism is encouraged by politicians,as the Race Relations Act,1971 is a sick joke,& the Maori Nationalists (especially those in the so-called 'Maori Party') are allowed to get away with promoting their avowedly Britanniphobic policies.New Zealand has also got the highest rate of child abuse in the entire British Commonwealth.

I don't blame those New Zealanders who've left with no intention of returning.

Aidan.

A lot of people come here to Canada. Must be because we're so friendly.
