Leffette wrote:I was reading a post that TC are fleeing to England for a better future. Why does this surprise you. Greek Cypriot who live in Cyprus still find Cyprus not good enough and they immigrate as well. How much more the TC in the Occupied Cyprus. (I don't call it Turkish side, because to my opinion it is not...it is occupied and it is a CYPRUS occiped side).
Even Americans and Canadians go to other countries for a "different" living.
The Europeans leave their countries for a "different" living. They are ashamed to say for a better living.
Because if your country is well to do, but you can't be happy in it, then yes the reason you immigrate is for a better living.
Money is not everything you know, one needs to live in peace as well.
It all depends why you immigrate, this reason varies from person to person. One of the main reasons is money. Think of how many non-national there are in Cyprus, think how they live and think of the money they earn in comparison to back home.
Better living; this is an odd one. I once spoke to an Indian girl a few years back, she was telling me how beautiful India is and that she would never immigrate is, not disputing her. She then continued and tell me her dad was the owner of a company spanning India. A pleasant girl non the least, an asset to her race. Saying this there are many Indian people who immigrate every day.
It all depends on circumstances. I believe that some people live better and some worse in the same country. Many immigrate to find a better quality of life. I know many people in Cyprus who's quality of life is terrible, same with the UK. It's what people believe in their heads ultimately to why they leave.
The quality of life comes from within, from your home, from the way you are. A place has little to do with it in most cases, if your going to be successful your going to do it wherever you are. If the place becomes unbearable because a group of people simply a changeover of city/area will probably solve the problem.
Saying that some people immigrate to escape from something, whatever it maybe. Sometimes people immigrate to shut their partner up, other's immigrate to try to make their partner happy, or change them. We always have the people who believe grass is greener on the other side. On the end wherever we are we are still the same people. Changing place only changes us marginally, we are still ultimately the same people.
In your case LAFFETTE, you left Cyprus is escape from a group of people and/or mentality their adhered, nobody is isolating you. Maybe you needed to make a slow transition here, rather than a sudden one. People need time to change and adapt and even though we never change as people we learn to be more accepting of others faults.
Sometimes it's not the countries that that particular individual is unhappy. It might be another person's fault, a job, debt etc. This does not mean everybody should immigrate from a country simply because somebody else immigrated from the same country. We all have different circumstances, were not all the same.
I currently have family who live in the UK, USA, South Africa, Australia, Norway and Sweden. There all happy in their country, but they have different circumstances to each other and to myself.
If a number of people in the masses immigrate from a country/region it normally means those people have something common in their circumstances to immigrate
(i.e. something is wrong with that place).
Hope this answers your question.
