Beatles Fan Disc. Graphic interface of 21 albums. Amazing.

A very unique disc for people that like the Beatles. Place this disc in your pc (windows xp) and the menu screen automatically appears with 21 pictures of original album covers e.g. red album, blue album, revolver etc. Then click an album, choose a song and an original recording plays, double click the song title playing and you can scroll through all the lyrics as the original song plays. Amazing disc for a Beatles fan.

I bought it at a computer fair in England.

15 euros.

How does it squeeze 21 albums, including double-albums with their lyrics onto a single disc?

The only way to do this would be if the disc merely provides links to an on-line facility with the music. Given that all the Beatles material is copyrighted then you’d have to pay extra to listen to the tracks or they are pirated versions.

F something sounds too good to be true (21 Beatles albums for €15) then it generally is and I suspect this is just a con.

Shame on you.

One of my sons downloaded something similar if not the same from the tinternet some while ago.

All the Beatles albums on one disk ~ it worked when it felt like it as the albums were badly compressed ~ I ended up losing it and never bothered getting another one ~ wasn't really worth the aggro wondering if it would work or not.

Bill ~~~~ once a Beatles fan ~ well I was 40 plus years ago

It would have to be MP3 format to take all the albums and probably can be played on the computer or even some DVD players. In any case it sounds like a pirated copy.

judgemental

Postby smudgert » Sat Feb 02, 2008 7:57 pm

Isn't it interesting how people can be so judgemental without seeing something. Its not a con, it is an actual programme that contains all these songs; it is not a cd with tracks on. You cannot get the tracks off the disc, they are in a cleverly made programme and it work amazingly. So do not judge and influence other people. If it is a fact, then state something; but keep a supicion to yourself until it is a fact. In this case, you are wrong.
The price is low because then many people can have access to it and also if people have a problem with pirate software/ music etc; then they are on the wrong island as piracy here is common as water with many shops selling pirate goods or renting them out to customers.
15 euros was just to let people easily afford it; talk about being ungrateful.
oh, one final thing; those that judge; step down from your heighty positions because shame on you all as your avatars or images are all copyrighted. E.g. cyprusgrump, try creating your own rather than stealing from the creators of Futurama. Funny how you judge, yet steal the image from the internet.
Think about that one.

To answer your last question first, why don’t you contact the holder of the copyright to the Beatles material and tell them that you are selling their entire collection for profit? At the same time, I’ll contact the Futurama people and tell them that I’m using one of their images for fun? That will put our ‘crimes’ into perspective…

Alternatively, let me have your personal details and I will contact the Beatles copyright holder and I’ll send you mine so that you can contact Futurama?

To answer the first part about how it ‘cleverly’ works, the CD contains 21 albums, some of them double albums so at least sixteen hours of material on a disc which can only hold a maximum of 74 minutes of music. Therefore the material must be extremely heavily compressed and that’s without adding the material for the lyrics and cover artwork.

And my friend, the price isn’t low is it? €15 isn’t low when the thing only costs you a few cents to copy a disc each time someone gullible enough orders from you – in fact, it is daylight robbery.

Shame on you.

One question here, what type of program gets installed onto your computer to be able to use this? What types of spyware, rootkits and adware are installed on your PC through this?

Instead, people can look on sites such as piratebay.org , katz.cd, torrentportal.com etc to find a discography of the beatles.
