I think in Paaul12 and other NeoPartitonist cases is no longer a matter of having a "brown nose" but a full
"ring around the collar".!

Just as I had predicted::D :D :D

Talat aims for solution this year
( Friday, August 29, 2008)

TURKISH Cypriot leader Mehmet Ali Talat said yesterday he hoped a solution to the division of Cyprus could be found by the end of the year.

"We aim to solve the Cyprus problem within 2008. We think that a solution is possible in this short time frame. We will be at the table with all our good will," Talat told a news conference in Ankara ahead of peace talks on the island next week.

Talat and President Demetris Christofias are to launch comprehensive reunification talks on September 3 after decades of separation, raising hopes of ending a deadlock that has been harming Turkey's ambition to join the European Union.

Talat was speaking after talks with Turkish President Abdullah Gul.

Once again foreigner may I remind you that this is to do with Cyprus and Cypriots . Anatolians and Kalamarades should keep out .

Ambassador : 'Russia shall recognize the TRNC right after Turkey recognizes South Ossetia '

By Staff Reporter
Turkish daily Cymhuriyet newspaper publishes an interview by the Russian Ambassador to Ankara, Vladimir Ivanovskiy, to Leyla Tavsanoglu on the latest developments in Caucasus, the decision of the Russian Federation to recognize the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia and the recognition of the illegal regime established in the occupied territories of the Republic of Cyprus.

Following are the questions referred to Cyprus:
“The Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Ankara, Vladimir Ivanovskiy referring to the recognition of the independence of North Ossetia and Abkhazia by Russia has pointed out that the model of the TRNC could also be applied to the two states.

Tavsanoglu: In 1983, the TRNC had announced its independence, yet, no country apart from Turkey recognizes this independence….

Ambassador: We are trying to look at the events from a realistic point of view. Of course, we do not consider the recognition to be very easy. We are aware that this procedure will be a difficult one. I want to share with you my personal thought. Perhaps many circles including my ministry shall not accept this point of mine. According to me, there is a change in the way the world order is perceived after World War II. The climate in global developments is changing. This is not launched by Russia. It is NATO that launched this by bombing Yugoslavia. Perhaps we today are following this direction. Indeed, we are not the ones who launched this.
…..
Subtitle: The example of North Cyprus can apply in the Caucasus region

Tavsanoglu: There is one last question. When shall Russia recognize the TRNC?

Ambassador: (Smiling) This issue is frequently brought onto the agenda by my colleagues in the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I shall give an answer on this to you as well. Russia shall recognize the TRNC right after Turkey recognizes South Ossetia and Abkhazia. It can be a mutual and simultaneous recognition.” :D :D :D :D :D

...It is impossible to have a dream that if we recognize the two Russia will recognize the Republic of Northern Cyprus, or TRNC. The status of TRNC is quite different because its independence does not set an obstacle before the reunification of Cyprus. The objective of TRNC's declaration of independence was emphasized as unification of the north and south under a federal structure. In fact, settlement talks will begin Sept. 3.

Besides, the Russian recognition of TRNC is not likely. There is an orthodoxy of solidarity between Russia and southern Cyprus, similar to the one between Russia and Serbia. How could we forget that Russia always protects southern Cyprus in the U.N. Security Council?

All you amateurs out there, take note on how to answer a diplomatic questions without giving anything away, other than getting yourself out of a jam and putting the other side on the ropes with a daring proposition, that the other side (Turkey) will not dare to follow through.

Of course, recognise S Ossetia and Abhasia by Turkey and surely Turkey can't refuse if Russia recognised Kurdistan!

This is what World Wars are made of. If we are not careful that is what we will end up having.

And Russia is supposed to be a friend to the hilt to the Greek Cypriot people. I guess when you are backstabbed, the blade in this case would be sunk up to the hilt. The fact that the Russian Foreign minister is using the north's title of 'TRNC' is a telling one...
