All TCs please read

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

All TCs please read

More reasons never to give up our rights on Cyprus.
I would urge Miltiades and Nikitas to read as well.

Zan, I'm not sure who you mean by 'they' - Greece or USA ? or someone else ?

These archives were recently released, but these are just the docs on Greece. If you want the 'full set' (ie Cyprus and Turkey included as well), try :

http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/96610.pdf

Umit - 250 is nothing, the complete set is nearly 900 pages !

I'm not suprise you're tired - I couldn't read this much stuff on a PC in one go.

There are archives all the way from pre-1960 to the one you posted.

From here http://www.state.gov/r/pa/ho/frus/ you can access all the available stuff on Cyprus thru the different presidents of the USA.
Start from Eisenhower (1958-1960), then Kennedy (1961-1963), Johnson (1964-1968), and end with Nixon/Ford (1969-1976).

Enough to blow your mind !

@ 74LB

Thanks for the links an I will read them as well.....I might print them out this time though.... By "They" I meant Greeks as in Greece and Cyprus.

@ MR-from-NG

@ Expatkiwi (Kifeas can take note as well)

That is exactly what I didn't want to do my friend. You really have to read it but with special attention to make reference to actual events in Cyprus at the time. You can see things unfold and the reason I asked Miltiades to read it as well is because of his thread in which he asked how many TCs were killed between 67-74 and called that a reason as to why Turkey should not have intervened. What you need to do, when reading the link I posted, is to imagine yourself in Turkeys place and to see what was happening in Greece and the communications with the USA and ask yourself what would you do if this information in one form or another was reaching your shores. There is no doubt that Turkey had interests to protect and the way Greece acted it only had one choice when they invaded Cyprus. They still have no choice but to stay......They are our only friends in this. We cannot afford to lose them or we are gone.....More population exchanges with no Greeks to give back......Any agreement has to have them as a guarantor power.
