Favourite Cypriot Dishes

Postby bill cobbett » Fri Feb 01, 2008 6:32 pm

My favourite Cypriot dishes are:-

Kleftiko - but not too greasy or fatty and with those delightful kokkinochoria potatoes.

Zalatina - not to everyone's taste I know. I especially like the crunchy ear and the soft tongue bits.

Anyone else ?

I would have to say number one is Fırın Kebabı ( Kleftiko )
Şeftali
Muhallebi with rose water in the summer.
Humus
kolokas , I hate the stuff. Fried bullez is not bad.

böğrülce is again something I hate my grandma can't stop nagging me to during the stuff in summer.

I also like bulgur köftesi ( someone translate that ) made some today with grandma.

What is "souvla" ? I keep on hearing about it on the forum.
