OK, Realist.
At this point I don't want you to concede that the A-Plan was not all the things you say it was. What I'm interested in, at this point, is for you to admit that there is room for interpretation, concerning the A-Plan. I.e., that one may see it as not being the way you describe it, while not being paid by Americans to support that view.
Can I have that concession?
Realist wrote:This was quite clear to anyone who read it. Now for an educated man like Anastasiades to sanction a 'Yes' vote would undoubtably raise questions about his motives.
See above about motivation.
If opinions differed among the very people who voted for or against the plan (opinions even differed within the groups of people who voted one way or another!), and this is plausible, why, then, could they not have differed among political leaders? Or, are you implying that all citizens who voted 'Yes' have been paid by Americans?
Realist wrote:Whoever doesn't believe that there are external parites influencing key people within political parties is dreaming, what does the CIA and other such organisations do all day. There are too many strategic interests.
Strategic interests do exist, and will exist, whether we vote 'Yes', 'No' or 'Maybe'. But all this Hollywood-mania that has taken over sensibility in Cyprus is not good for us.
The Cyprus problem is too small a deal for it to cause all this conspiratorial orgasm that we create all the time. The world does not revolve around us - neither the 'good' world, nor the 'bad' world.
Realist wrote:I think all people in Cyprus just need to make up their own minds about what is best for their island and if this means voting against their traditional party then so be it. Afterall, these leaders are here to serve the nation, not the other way around.
I think that's what happened in the referendum, more or less.
