Tassos is about to "say what changes he wants"

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Tassos is about to "say what changes he wants"

According to Politis Newspaper, Tassos plans to hand a letter over to UN assistant secretary general, Kieren Prentergast, when he will visit Cyprus in April. In that letter, Tassos will explicitly say what changes he wants to the Annan Plan, and will commit himself to an intensive negotiation process leading to agreement before the end of 2005.

Ummm...
If it were true, it'd be front-page material, no doubt.
I'd check the date on that paper

Well, the article is quite detailed, if it's a joke it's a very well-planned joke.

Τhat it is!
That was my reaction, too: at least these guys have a sense of humour...

But I see you are still wondering whether it actually is a joke or not... Do you not think such a story would be a front-page headliner (especially in this particular newspaper)?

The way I read things is that Papadopoulos is covering all eventualities. What seems to be happening is he is waiting to see what the reactions are after the visit of Molyviatis to the USA. I expect that he is looking to see if a letter detailing the concerns of the GC's will suffice for now until proximity talks begin and I guess that is when he will start to lay cards on the table to the UN.
