purdey. I just LOVE the bit about the overstayed welcome, it certainly opens the door to an interesting analysis, I will think on it.
OVERstayed welcome ?, I wonder how many other OVERS could be applied ?.(I certainly cannot comprehend the 'Welcome ' bit
)
OVERruling the opposition of many nations since the attack would be against international law.
OVER stating the involvement of Saddam Hussein in the events of 9/11 which led up to the unlawful attack
OVER emphasizing Saddam's reluctance to allow his nation to be searched for non-existent weaponry.
OVERriding the opinions of millions of decent citizens who marched and protested the intended unlawful attack.
OVERlooking the possibility of inflaming the already agitated Arab (and other) nations.
OVERwhelming the innocent sleeping city of Baghdad with the promised 'Shock and Awe' tactics carried out by:-
OVERhead bombardment from a safe altitude of 6 miles, rendering defence impossible and slaughtering thousands of helpless civilians in the process.
OVERestimating the efficacy of the ground forces which followed the aerial attack on the nation.
OVERsimplifying the enormity of the task facing the aggressors, (probably blinded by the prospect of Oil revenues).
OVER spending on the defence budget which now bears upon the US economy.
OVERburdening the US taxpayer which has caused hardship to US citizens (hence George's recent handout).
OVERpowering the already devastated citizens of Iraq with the introduction of 'Rigged' elections.
Finally, I am sure we all remember how OVERjoyed Georgie was when he announced "Mission Accomplished", unfortunately his announcement was a little premature since the 'REAL' problems began subsequent to such.
Now, it would appear that great efforts, (probably involving further BILLIONS of dollars) are being made in bribing the OVERlords of Iraq in order that the aggressor may leave with some semblance of dignity.
The general population of that once stable nation (regardless of our aversion to it) is now far far worse off than it ever was.
The nation is now OVERshadowed by a gloom it has never experienced before, it will remain so for many years to come.
OH YES, there is one UNDER that could be applied here, the UNDERestimation of the determination of the Iraqi to resist the bullying aggressor, obviously George and Tony never had the experience of punching the 'School Bully' on the nose, a pity really, they may have learned something about themselves.
In my humble opinion.
