Then all the other flags of the EU countries must be illegal

zan, I can see no point in directing anger towards people who are not responsible for the situation that now exists in Cyprus since that would mean that the politicians and military leaders have succeeded in fooling me, which they have not.
I have no issues with either T/C or G/C (I dislike the imposed distinction) since I know they were subjected to the 'Tried and Tested' manoeuvres of divisionary politics many years ago.
I accept that there has been great suffering on both sides of the (now divided) people of Cyprus and I am sure we are all well aware of the real reasons for such.
I do feel that the presence of Turkish troops is quite unnecessary since their occupation only serves to fuel the fires of hatred, precisely the reason for why the politicians on all sides prefer them to be there.
It would be unthinkable for this island to be at peace midst the turmoil that now surrounds it.
I feel that the Turkish Government's policy of encouraging settlement of Turkish subjects is wrong, the people who respond to the opportunity to settle here cannot be blamed since they only seek to improve the lives of themselves and their families.
I think the obviously antagonistic practice of displaying so many flags and emblems is also designed to ensure that a peaceful solution is hardly possible, given that the politicians are perfectly aware of the effect such displays have on the ordinary people, also ensuring unrest and division.
I will not allow such things to anger me since I know that it has become necessary to maintain this island as a military stronghold in the Middle Eastern region, the pity is that the people should have been given the truth of the matter many years ago, THAT would not be conducive with politics for the obvious reason that TRUTH and POLITICS do not mix.
In my humble opinion.
And which of those qualities can you attribute to the "RoC" as a tit 4 tat policy.
As for not directing anger towards people who are not responsible for the situation that now exists in Cyprus.......How did today happen then...It did not just appear out of the blue......The "RoC" is still a highjacked part of the Cyprus Republic..How can you not be angry at that if were fair
shahmaran wrote:Well then, why doesn't the RoC get another flag which represents the truth, which is the fact that they only own HALF of the island and HALF of the people, rather then pretending they don't by using the flag of a conflict free Cyprus?
Clearly that flag has lost its meaning a LONG time a go, no point in pretending is there....

zan, soldiers act under orders, mercenaries act under instructions/orders and the hope of gain, civilians act under the influence of those who can convince them of (right or wrong) a cause.
Above them ALL are the manipulators, unless you are privy to their objectives, you will remain oblivious to them, which just about sums up the situation in Cyprus.
What we now have is the end product of all the machinations (well planned) of various political and military powers,
We may argue till the day of 'Jubilo', we will resolve nothing, the ordinary folk will achieve nothing, or end up in a worse state than they were to begin with, I believe the politicians refer to it as 'Progress'.

Shahmaran,YOU ARE a malakas! Cyprus doesn't need a new flag at all.Perhaps, you should take a day trip to southern Cyprus, buy a Cypriot flag,& then fly it up there in northern Cyprus.
