Please just try it.Plenty of protection behind a laptop.Or better still nip over the border and shout your taunts. It takes guts, but I am sure your hatred will give you the strength..

Whatever members (in particular Turk or T/C) may think of Phoenix and her outspoken contributions to various topics on this forum, there is one point that cannot be denied and that is that she says it as she sees it.

She rarely (if ever) relies on the clippings of newspapers and written or verbal wise words of political representatives, ANY FOOL CAN DO THAT.

If we communicate the ideas and opinions of the politicians and their ilk, we can hardly rely on the validity of our comments since we KNOW that they are invariably based on a matter of self interest and likely to be untrue.

Thus, if both sides of any debate resort to similar tactics, there is little value in debating since obviously the matter has already been debated.

There is little point in hurling abuse at each other, (Gentlemen, the onus is still on you to show respect to a Lady) unless it is your intention to intensify ill feelings.

I am sure there are many who, like myself, have suffered greatly as a result of the Turkish invasion/occupation of our island, it is not our fault that our leaders are unable to resolve the issues that THEY have created and there is little to gain if we (the minions in the matter) continue to abuse each other as a result of it.

To those who actually gloat over the fact that there are so many foreign troops, mostly Turkish, many others, I would like to gently remind you that whatever resolution is found, the ordinary people of both sides will hardly feel the benefit since you (and I) are of no consequence in the eyes of those who pretend to have our best interests at heart.

We should direct our anger and frustration towards those who lead us astray and divide us, I am sure that most members do not feel quite so resentful of each other as this forum would have us believe.

Personally, I do believe it is quite wrong for the Turkish forces to be here in such strength, I regard the 'Flag on the Mountain' to be an offensive and unnecessarily antagonistic reminder of their presence, it does nothing to promote good will and only serves to drive a wedge between the G/C and T/C (unfortunately divisional titles) Cypriots who have lived together peacefully for years PRIOR to all the political chicanery which created the present day situation.

In my humble opinion of course.

If a lady wants to come here and act like a man then on her head be it...It would be sexist to treat her ay differently. I personally do not believe she is who she says she is anyway so until I am proven wrong she can open her own doors......

I am surprised at your attitude towards the presence of the Turkish army and your reluctance to accept the reasons for them being there and my predicament due to GC aggression in the 60s. You should also be angry at the "RoC" for causing the conditions in the first place.

Eliko,it is banter, and I believe the vast majority feel no ill will.I expect to be lambasted, and at times I fuel the argument, but how can I be offended by somebody I cannot see.
Phoenix loves the excitement, the attention, she has a great command of language, and I applaud her.One thing I will say woman or no woman,(who knows) I shall not pull the punches.Unless she or he can proove who they are...

Ditto Zan.

Eliko, the most eloquent person on this forum. Your 'honey-like' sentences puts us all to shame, but...........you used the 'lady' word. Is the language this 'lady' uses, the language of a 'lady'? What advice do you have for this 'lady'?

Regards

denizaksulu, you may have my assurance that Phoenix is indeed a 'Lady', the fact that she has suddenly resorted to such base language is quite a surprise to me.

I think we should attribute it to the fact that she has been pilloried to such an extent that she has opted to fight fire with fire.

Certainly it is not in her nature to be so raucous in her deliveries.

Oh what eloquence and thanks for such an express reply. Made me miss United's goal, thank you very much.

But I can assure you this was no suuden change in the ladies manners. Had she behaved like a lady, I can assure you she would be treated like one. But what advice would you give the 'lady'/ Missed another goal, damn it (oops sorry)

Best regards
