The flag of the Republic of Cyprus.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Regardless, in the spirit of reconciliation, the National Anthem of Cyprus need to reflect the flag: in other words neutral. All that the Greek National Anthem is doing is empathising which ethnic group is calling the shots.

I have to agree with this comment. Cyprus' claims to embrace independence instead of Enosis is being made a mockery because of the use of the Greek National Anthem. The anthem itself is a very moving piece (though I don't think I would like to sing all 168 verses), but it really does not have a place in any country other than Greece.

Aidan, the term is 'Member of the Commonwealth of Nations'. 'British Commonwealth' was formally dropped in 1974.

Dean,a lot of people have never heard of 'Commonwealth of Nations',but they have heard of the British Commonwealth though.I object to the term 'Commonwealth of Nations',as it perpetuates the misuse of the word 'nation'.

The time for the restoration of the name 'British Commonwealth' is long overdue, then it could pave the way towards banning foreign countries, such as Rwanda, from wanting to join up,as they were neither British colonies, nor ruled by a British Commonwealth member state.Neither Cameroon nor Mozambique belong in the British Commonwealth, but Somaliland,Zimbabwe,& Ireland do.

DT,Turkish will be an official language of the reunited Federal Republic of Cyprus along with both Greek & English. That is what sets Cyprus apart from both Greece & Turkey.
