I want to open a shop in Paphos...

Postby askfor » Wed Jan 30, 2008 12:10 am

I want to open a shop in Paphos, and now I am looking for a place to rent. Could you guys please tell me, where to look for available rentals?

I looked in Cyprus Mail, but found only houses and flats to rent, not business premises.

If you are serious ... you need to take a walk around and determine where the best location for you brand of shop would be ..

You know, shoe shops do better located to next to other shoe shops, jewellers next to other such shops etc.

So ... determine what kind of shop you want to open, walk around and find the best location ... then look for an available outlet that would suit you ...

I am very serious. Thanks phoenix for your suggestion. I looked around, and on the main road, from Paphos towards Coray Bay, before the Tombs would be an ideal place.
I thought there will be some classifieds in a paper, or on the web, to list business rentals. Maybe I was wrong?

Try Interlink in Limassol.
Three rules for opening a business in Cyprus:
1.Product and siteing need to be competitive.
2.Secure premises on a long lease with a fixed rent.
3.See a good Lawyer,Shisas of Limassol is one of the best.
4.Keep your ideas close to your chest prior to opening.
Business is tough in Cyprus,if you step on anyones toes you will not last a month.
Good luck.

There is a large shop almost next to ONiels on Tombs of the Kings road that had a 'for rent' sign on it for a long while. When I went past yesterday, the sign was gone so I don't know if it's still for rent. Always have in mind that even an empty shop for rent requires a good will payment (crazy, buts how it is). What kind of a shop do you want to open?

Forget that, use a commercial estate agent. Please do not fall into the trap of doing it yourself, unless of course you are Cyprus business savvy.

No we have Cypriot friends. It is just friendly advice. If you do go ahead, you will be competing in a very tough market.Cypriots are masters in business and there is tough competition out there.
Always wise to take a few precautions.I wish you luck, take care.

Are there Commercial Estate Agents in Cypurs??? IF yes, they are the best to help you find a shop.

Good luck
