You're so full of shit Piratis, buying the government lies and propaganda.
Pay attention to the Cyprus Mail (drastically underfunded though independent and vaguely reliable news source). The figures for 06/07 looked shocking, on the back of the revelation that the CTO was without a CEO and a proper strategy for years.
Suddenly, out the blue, the figures went from being well down, to being up in the middle of the summer of 07. How convenient, or should I say, how utterly wrong.
The figures have been slipping and this is because of incompetence at government level, a lack of regulation at business level and a complete lack of tourism strategy. Culiminating in years of nelglect and underfunding of the industry and the fact that flights are too expensive into the country. So people from the UK, Germany etc go elsewhere, like Turkey and Spain, or further afield to places like Thailand and the Caribbean, for their hols.
Get your act together.

1) I'm Pumpy. I don't have to do anything.
2) Similar to point 1, I'm Pumpy. Therefore I have all the answers.
3) I'm a typical Anglo-GC. Except not very typical at all, really.
