The Turkish Cypriot Flag

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Nikitas » Tue Jan 29, 2008 4:31 pm

Shahamaran talks about hatred and abuses of human rights and adds:

"we all know what happened here," well here is a small example of what happened here, read it and then we talk about hatred- it is from Sener Levent who quotes Sevgul Oludag:

"The soldiers wanted to rape an 18 year old GC girl in the village of Tavros in Karpasia. She resisted, so they killed her and raped her headless body."

Is this incident posted in that museum you keep in the TRuNC? This incident, like many others in Karpasia happened after the Turkish army quashed all resistance. There was no military engagement in Karpasia. This is how they behaved towards people they had at their complete mercy. And you dare talk about genocide and abuse of rights. You regard these people as heroes. Fuck off will ya!

I took my son to Nicosia for the first time in his young life last Saturday. I did not prepare him for what was about to meet our eyes as we approached our Capital City ....

His reaction will stay with me forever, and I will not go into my feelings associated with that now.

But as our resident observer:

What reason would you offer for the welcome on the hillside that met us ...

And he horror stories and lies you told the child about Turks did nothing to calm did it now...What a responsible mother you are.....No wonder you feel inadequate.......

I, as a Cypriot, have no affiliation with the flag of the so called "RoC" who claims to own the island when they clearly don't, in fact the reality is that they own this entire island as much as the Greeks own Istanbul, and that is the bottom line.

The people of Cyprus OWN Cyprus , not the 40 thousand foreign troops or the 70 or so thousand Anatolians. Since you say you are a Cypriot , just like I , then denounce the occupying army .As for your comments on the "so called "ROC" , this so called Republic happens to be recognised the world over , does not have a foreign army on its soil occupying and dictating and it just happens to also be a member of the EU. So called my arse mate .

You still haven't said whether you denounce the "RoC" as they are the ones that took away your Cyprus Republic....If not hen don't expect us to denounce our Republic.......Whether it has Turkish soldiers or not.

I see, so if you want to hurl abuses at me you don't need to make shit up that i have not even talked about Nikitas, you can just go a head and show your true face mate, it really means fuck all to me anyways.

Show me where i have stated that "they are my heroes" ?

Was there any military engagement in the 3 villages that had been totally dumped into massgraves? I very much doubt it my friend, unless women and children also took up warfare.

So dont give me this crap about the TRNC flag being the symbol for human rights abuses and all that because the "RoC" means nothing less to the people in the North, the fact that the South is "legal" changes nothing about the things that has been done to the innocent on this island.

The little "rape" article is nothing new to the TC's either, i think we all know that historically, the Greeks also love to rape and burn down villages at will when given the chance, so what is your point Nikitas?

Because I dont actually think that you have got one this time, so please you fuck off and come back when you do.

The flag used by the Turkish Cypriot nation was the result of a flag design competition. A Turkish Cypriot won it, and thus the TRNC flag was born. It represents the people of that nation, although, it is officially regarded as the STATE flag. The NATIONAL flag is that of Turkey.

Despite that, calling the flag illegal defies logic. Yuo may call the TRNC illegal, but its emblems represent the people who had a right to self determination. And as for the large flag painted above Nicosia/Lefkosa, well... since the Greek Cypriots have done their level best to deny the north and its people their basic rights, something had to be done to remind the world that they are there, and that flag makes a pretty clear statement of that...

No, the flag is an ugly mess which reminds the world and gloats at the Cypriots that the basic human right of living in your own property has been usurped by one of the largest armies in world with territorial interests on the island, none of which have anything to do with TCs.

If all the TCs died tomorrow - Turkey wouldn't give a toss - just send over some more settlers - TCs are just convenient fodder for a claim on a territory.

Don't judge other people's parenting skills by your own standards Zan

My son is half Scottish and if he wishes he can walk away from his Cypriot heritage ... he has been brought up as neutral as can be, for many reasons. As a mother ... I do not want him to take the responsibility of the Cyprus problem upon himself ... so there's barely been a mention of Turks in his presence.

As a scientist I love observing the development of the Human brain ... and one must avoid interfering with the outcome...

I do not feel inadequate, because I do not impose my views on my son, nor raise any expectations.

If you are going by the "Cypriot Mamma" thread ... I stopped posting on that when it became apparent that people where offloading their misconceptions and had missed the point entirely.

I am too Bohemian to attach discipline and rigour and prefer to let people express themselves as they want ...

Do you notice ... I attract a lot of criticism, nagging, impositions, but other than my personal gripes against Turks ... I never tell people how they should behave ... so why should I indoctrinate the most precious thing in my life with the ugliness that is the Turk!
