The Turkish Cypriot Flag

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby BC Numismatics » Fri Feb 01, 2008 10:27 pm

Dean, the St. Patrick's Cross flag has been adopted as the symbol of Irish Unionism by organisations such as the Irish Unionist Alliance, the Reform Movement of Ireland,& the Loyal Irish Union.

The display of the Irish tricolour in Northern Ireland is extremely provocative. It would be like displaying the flag of the 'TRNC' in southern Cyprus.

I understand that. The Irish flag was made for an idealistic reason, but it was misused by those who turned it into a far more provocative flag.

Hey, Zan.

By the way, on the Vexillological scale, the TRNC flag rates quite highly due to its simplicity of design and in its ability to be recognized at a distance.
