Britain definitely caused the Cyprus problem

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Britain definitely caused the Cyprus problem

Postby Noaxetogrind » Sun Jan 27, 2008 10:10 pm

If Britain had not become involved in Cyprusin 1878 and it had remained in Ottoman control it is a fact that the Cyprus problem faced today would never had existed.

There would never have been British bases (facsist British according to some contributors in other associated topics but who don't comprehend the meaning of the word).

Greek Cypriots would not, therefore, have faced the horrific choice of deciding whether or not to gain employment on the bases nor would they have sufferred from making money from the not unsubstantial cash the bases and the British brought to the island and continue to bring to the economy. Tourism too being another curse would not have brought further employment and substantial revenue to anywhere near the levels it does but that doesn't really matter as it would be a Turkish possession anyway.

Damn Britain !!

Worst of all Piratis and Phoenix would have to find another outlet for their sad and pathetic hate and reasonable people would be unable to feel sorry for them.

What a pathetically short-sighted "Just so" story. Sounds again like you do have an axe-to-grind ...... with the British, for spoiling your monopoly on the Island.

Let's see you fight it out with the Brits, little Turk .... how would you fare against them? We may have lost half our island through being at their mercy, but what would Turkey have lost if it had to square up to the Imperialists without their bargaining chip?

And you can well accuse others of not understanding "fascism", but first learn to spell it yourself .....

How much better the world would have been if the Ottomans had been allowed to go unchecked .... we may not have had "need" for a Hitler, or a Stalin or a Mao .... The whole world would have been obliterated in a series of Turk-inspired Genocides, leaving only the Ottomans and their Harems to grow fat and bloated on the goods of the Land ....

The problem with you bloody Turks, is that you do not understand compromise, sharing, partnership and above all living in harmony with your neighbours.

Misfits like Turks can well lament how much greater their riches would have been, if their partners in crime, the Brits, had not come along and filched what they consider is rightfully theirs. Honour amongst thieves

Well I have a better case scenario ....

The Cyprus problem would definitely not have existed if the Chinese did not hate you so much, that they drove you away from Mongolia and you started your rape and pillaging around the globe devouring cultures in your path like locusts over crops.

Do us all a favour and crawl back to whence you came from, then the Cyprus problem would truly be solved .

"CAUSED" is past tense .............. dude come back to reality the British are still causing problems, no past tense in their destruction of Cyprus.

I am puzzled here. How can you have a fact based on a hypothetical situation. Probably we'd be all speaking Cypriot with a Russian accent.

No British, no form of independence whatsoever...Cyprus would be a large Turkish owned island in the Med.

God, people are ignorant on here.
