Britain definitely caused the Cyprus problem

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

I honestly think you would loose tourists,I know now the tourist industry is suffering and it will get worse. If you read my posts I am no colonialist,my family live in Cyprus have businesses but we regard ourselves as guests and act accordingly. There are some British who do not show the same respect but I cannot control this.
Of course we hear desent (we speak Greek) in the streets and on TV,and that does make us feel uneasy from time to time, but you cannot and should not label us all the same because we are British.
It would be nice if you would answer my question, and maybe refer to some good things that the UK has done for Cyprus.....
Were do you get slaves from ? nobody I know treats Cypriots as slaves..

They bled every country they conquered and made sure upon their exit, they went in for the jugular...

So piratis you want to play the role of the innocent "Virgin Mary" . You guys are not that clean! For starters Jews dispise "Nazi's" not the entire German population, it's you and Phoenix who use the excuse of the Turkish intervention, to hate an entire nation that is what Nazi's did. They used excuses such as "The Jews have taken over our economy" , "Jew's invaded Europe and are the reason for all our troubles" . They saw them racially inferior, by the way Phoenix reffers to Turks you would think she was talking about a bloody virus and not a bunch of human beings. We TC's have suffered a lot from GC's, but there is no reason to continue the hatred to eternity.

Brittain has the most civilized and caring people you are likely to find in the world , it also has the most uncivilized and uncaring people and those are the Brits that make the news , the hooligans , single mothers uneducated relying on the state for hand outs producing kids right left and centre , mostly < and expecting society at large to take care of their offsprings , it also has a very large contingent of third world illiterate mostly immigrants , asylum seekers scroungers that hate our guts but love our benefits.

The most generous people you will come across are the British , the silent vast majority who do not go to Spain and seek out fish and chips , who do not come to Cyprus expecting hand outs from the government , but are solid citizens , orderly , civilized and caring . Our poor animals in Cyprus , if they could talk they would be singing God save the Queen because so much influence has been exerted by the Brits on animal welfare , also let me add here that many thousands of Cypriots , if not EVERY Cypriot has derived some sort of benefit by the presence of the Brits on our island.
As far as the British involvement with Cyprus as a British colony then the governments of the day were entirely responsible for much of the events that followed the 30s , 40s and 50s. Stubborn as mules , totaly absorbed in their own destiny , ignoring the plight of the people of Cyprus but at the same time acting entirely within the frame work of Empire Rule .
Let us also remember that the UK is the home of more than 250 thousand Cypriots .

Well said M. Funny how everyone is always quick to point out the bad points of another country, but very rarely accept the good. It is good to be patriotic but not obsessive and in so becoming blind to see the facts.

When we go abroad, we do not visit the chip shops etc. We taste the local cuisine, do the trips and try to learn a bit more about the country, the language and its culture. It was very wrong of Phoenix to generalise in such a way. The chip shops are there as the countries still think that is what the Brits want. Just like Cyprus they are 30 years out of date!!

I doubt your educational background Phoenix, but you should put it to better use and stop with the wild accusations. That in itself just tells me just how uneducated you are!

..... I've got you thinking haven't I? :D

:? What? No scathing reply/half witty riposte?

If you had spent so many years working in universities how come it is that you still do not fully comprehend the English language? I refer to an earlier post in which you said when talking about your mother - and this is not the exact quote - I cannot get her to stop, desist using the water? Why the need for two words with the same meaning when one is perfectly acceptable - or is that the Cypriot in you? :? :?

Yes we did, that is how it worked in those days.Times have changed, people have changed. If we always refer to the past we will never move forward. Is that any reason to dislike or hate another human being, for what there ancestors did.

You think that her views and her moving back to Cyprus and the sudden anti English movement is just a coincidence.....Tpap will recruit from anywhere....

Where have I said anything anti-English? :?

I am a good Brit. I am

YEH! One that has a belly full of English marbles and no gratitude. Whilst your well off family were paying for a good education for you, which has gone to waste, the rest of your representatives were stealing from the wealthfare system and peoples cars to pay for heir drink and drugs problems....You are so insular.....Expand your mind....Get some drugs from your fellow Cypriots........

Small Print: This is not a generalisation and excludes all hardworking Cypriots that have despaired over the younger generations antics..Those that worked in uncle Georges Chip shop and claimed benefits need not apply....

Well you are another one that clearly does not know the difference between English and British.

All the rest of your rants do not apply to myself, so no further comment ...

Is this your wish list purdey?

I hope you are not slandering me with any of those, because you are just showing your stupidity.... get panning the posts for some quotes and stop making things up.

You have still to show me any evidence where I have been "racist".

Continual repetition of made up imaginary earworms of yours do not count .... but perhaps your aim is just to keep saying bad things about me because of some twisted perversion ....

I have read your posts with your reference to Turks.I will admit from what you write I have little or no affection for you.I have no agenda on this forum,i just write as I see it from my point of view. You do seem to have alot of dislikes for people and countries, maybe you would share these with us in more depth as we me be able to understand where these dislikes come from.Or maybe you are one of the more disengenious people who take what they want out of life and people and then sit back and criticise.
Hey ho we cannot all be the same, and me been critical of you is a weakness with me....
