Minister adopts a puppy
AGRICULTURE Minister Fotis Fotiou yesterday joined a number of Cypriot animal lovers in adopting a puppy from the Cyprus Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (CSPCA).
Summoning his wife and young son to the ministry’s gardens, Fotiou met with CSPCA head Toula Poyadji, who had brought four beautiful little Cyprus poodle puppies and got his son to choose the one he wanted.
His son was pretty clear about wanting a boy, picking up the only male in the litter.
The minister was clearly taken by the little pooches, which were so cute even reporters were thinking of adopting one. Handing over the puppy, Poyadji was clearly emotional, obviously having formed a close bond with the litter.
Earlier in the month, Poyadji confirmed the CSPCA shelter would be closing down on January 20 and began an SMS campaign to save the shelter’s 120 dogs and 30 cats from being put down.
She recently told the Cyprus Mail that homes were found for most animals.

Let's hope they all find good homes
