any references from your bright sources how Hatzi Yeorgakis brilliant career ended?

No. I'm still searching about his term of office. :lol: Ain't it interesting? For 30 years he governed Cyprus. Was it because Ottomans trusted him much or Ottomans had bigger problems in other regions? And it is also interesting that it seems the muslim elite of Cyprus accepted his defacto governorship and didn't revolt to overthrow him.

So why did they allow him to govern Cyprus for 30 years? Just to cut his head 30 years later at an age 70 0r 80?

For the same reason they let the priests be their tax collectors. Plus the fact he was a "Bananiot".

As embaressed as i am to admit it, but i was never told, and just assumed it was a name, sorry for my ignorance on this one but i usually am quite well informed on most matters. :oops:
