Olli says TC Ports are legal?

Postby Viewpoint » Fri Jan 25, 2008 8:50 am

Its reported in the TRNC press today that Olli Rehn and the EU Commission have slapped tassos in the face by stating that Famagusta port is not illegal.

This was taken from a report in the GC paper Simerini.

Must be the Day for TC's I guess ......... Mrs Talat went on a day out to Bruxels ..... she said "
“This is essential in order to correct the imbalance which currently exists. We in the north feel excluded, economically, socially and in many other ways, from the rest of the international community.”
http://www.eupolitix.com/EN/News/200801/b285c637-e218-4615-abaa-da9ec8d697a1.htm

I wonder if she also mentioned that we in the south have been booted from our homes, had our humna rights violated for 34 years and our arses have been kicked by Turkish speaking Cypriots and 40, 000 troops.

If we agree that the responsibility for the past conflicts must be equally shared, then don't you think that the ongoing persecution of the North is a bit unfair considering the south is filthy rich AND part of the EU?

We have been seriously neglected indeed, there is no question about the unfairness of the situation.

That is the confusion that Humanist finds himself with Shah......He has no idea what he is saying.....One minute we should forgive and forget and we were all to blame and then that rubbish.....You never know which way to turn with him.

Shah, the so called persecution of the north can easily be solved if Talat, invited all those refugees to return to their homes and live in a unified Island nation.

Sha I was 6 when Turkey came in in 1974 and let me tell you I remember getting powedered milk provided by the Red Cross @ school because ther was so much pooreness. So the south is "filthy rich" because people worked hard. We had over 30 refugees in our home over night half the village of Kyra ended up in our lounge room floor. I remember four members of the sme family after war going to Dubai and other neighbouring countries for years to bring back cash to feed their children.

Zan ....... I lost you buddy ......

Humanist, there is no doubt about the poor conditions during those years, i also get told about them plenty by my family, my parents were in their mid 20s at the time so it is more then just childhood memories, some of them took part in the actual battles, fell prisoners, lived in the mountains hiding, became desperate for the most basic medication, people were dying from simple infections etc etc. you know the story, everyone went through it.

However everyone also worked hard on both sides not just the South, but the differences is that only one sides "hard work" has paid off since, why else would there be only 30-40 thousand of us left here today, don't you wonder?

Do you think this is justifiable by what had happened in the past?
