The Debate

Postby Sotos » Thu Jan 24, 2008 8:14 pm

At 9:45 tonight there will be the first debate among the 3 main candidates. They will discuss economy and other issues and leave the Cyprus problem for a separate debate on Valentines day  Lets see who will be the best ;)

Papadopoulos was once again serious, down to earth, giving direct answers to the questions without big words and slogans.

Christofias talked good as well and gave a good impression overall. His minus point was that he tried to take credit for the positive things of the government while at the same time he was trying to find things to criticize Papadopolos.

Kasoulides was weak. He seemed nervous and he gave lots of empty slogans and promises while the socio-economic policy that he will follow if elected remained unclear. (Of course with DISY backing him we all know what it will be)

Good that you admit that VP. Because we all know that the division is solely a result of you wanting it and having the power to illegally enforce it, and does not depend on the president of Cyprus.

We have changed 5 presidents since 1974 but during the last years you made the ridiculous claim that Papadopoulos was supposedly the obstacle for unification.

Well, at least now you admitted that who we elect is irrelevant in this respect since under the current balance of power a unification is impossible, and the choice is between the current status quo kind of division, and an official kind of partition of the kind of Annan plan.

So yes, the division will continue for the foreseeable future, but since we will elect Papadodopoulos you can forget about the official kind of division that you dream about.

Do you misunderstand on purpose or are you just stupid?????He is talking about the GC administrations underlying intentions and not that we will not talk to any of them. As for Tpap........He has been in the mix all along...From the formation of EOKA and the Akritas Plan to today.......How much more is he going to contribute even if e is voted out...

Your ex EOKA member, Turk and everything Turkish hating president will be the downfall of the RoC. Reelection will definitely be the final nail in the coffin. Welcome official partition. 2008, the year of the TCs.

Long live the TRNC. God give strength to the Turkish military.
