Why not the REAL CHAT ?

Postby kokorosie » Thu Jan 24, 2008 7:05 pm

Well I don't mean goin' and having a coffee 8)

As I noticed, this forum is quite busy. I'm suprised that nobody didn't create the real live online Cyprus chat yet (as used to be on MSN, or ICQ, or any local country chats.)

Did you try the Cyprus channel on IRC (undernet)? I haven't been there for long time but from what I hear it still has 100s of people online.

Most of the participants are Greek speaking and teens. It was the most popular thing when internet became popular in Cyprus in 1995! More people used the IRC then than the web! Here is for serious adult discussions as you have probably noticed already :P :?

yeah, it ends up as chat although it is supposed to be that in each thread we discuss a specific topic. But everything goes out of topic eventually!

As long as the topic is answered, it is alright. Some people have the tendancy of picking small bits from what is said and start quoting in the attempt to create arguements, or even attack people. That's when it all goes loopy.

I personally try to answer the topic head on.

As for this question:

I don't like chat rooms, I prefer forums. Cyprus-Forum did say they would hold a discussion on their next meeting for a possible chat room. Many people in Cyprus do use msn messenger and mirc, but like I said I don't like any of those. I know many which use Skype too. It's all a matter of what you like.
