If it's political equality the TC's want...

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Piratis » Wed Jan 23, 2008 3:15 am

I have heard of Enosis and the loss of our rights within the government, and the massacring of Turkish villages, kids and women being dug out of mass graves, TCs living within the 3% of the island while depending on the supplies that the UN was handing out to them, ever heard of it?

Exaggerate as much as you want mate. What we have done to you was not even 1% of what you have done against us, do against us, and are trying to find lame excuses to continue doing against us in the future.

Of course you have, but for you this is nothing but the consequences of some ancient Empire that we are supposed to be responsible for which you still very sadly like to hold a grudge about and find it justifiable because we never belonged here anyways.

What your "ancient Empire" did to us was just the beginning, and you haven't stopped since. Do you see me "holding a grudge" against the Persians, the French, the Italians, the Egyptians or any of the others that passed from our island? My problem is not what you did in the past. My problem is what you are doing TODAY. You are the one who is trying to dig from the past selective and distorted parts of history in order to excuse your crimes, not me.

You are one racist and bitter old man and it sucks to be you, but thankfully you are a serious minority even in your own beloved Cyprus and no one to be taken seriously because your views are as outdated as you are.

You are a criminal, and unfortunately you are not the minority, as the Nazis of your kind rule in Turkey and commit genocides and ethnic cleansing against other nations which you invade, occupy and oppress.

Unlike you I am not racist. I don't want to violate the human and democratic rights of people simply because of the race they belong, like you do. Nor I support ethnic cleansing, crimes and illegalities like you do. And maybe I am a few years older than you, but I am not old either.

Piratis,

Neither side has clean hands. The end result is the current status quo. Both sides can - with justification - point to atrocities, but this does not solve the problem. All it does is to inflame passions.
It is unreasonable to ask people to forget. Besides, one must take heed of lessons learned from history. But people are going to have to set aside their fears and prejudices if any change to the status quo is to be made. You'd all have a better chance at reconciliation by concentrating on the things that both communities have in common rather than differences...

Nothing changes the fact that you are heading down the low road to the Lake of Fire in Hell where you will burn up for eternity!

Pumpy commented:

"Handy hint - you'll never win it back. Ever."

With this mentality the battle of Britain would never have been fought, let alone won. Territorial loss or gain is never the measure of victory in war.

Look at Turkish history through the 20th century. There was not one single conflict with equal or superior forces. The so called mighty Turkish army was never really tested once. Greek Cypriots took on the British Empire and managed to win, something Britain will never forgive or forget and she still makes us pay for it today.
