When I was little I used to collect old British coins but now I collect foreign coins and banknotes from places I have visited.
They are more like souveniers really but I have notes from every continent. I need to find a way to display them as they would make a lovely piece of art.

Kafene you said you collect old instruments...can you tell how old the instrument is and details about it? I have one that I need to find out if its as old as it says on the label. If you can do you know if there is anybody in Cyprus who can do that?

Welcome back GR!

Lena, depending of what instrument it is, I might be able to help you. Normally instruments don't have a date on them, they might have a name and a date which is the year the manufacturer has started making instruments. I have a feeling it is a violin you have. If I can't help then I will probably know someone who can.

I collected old bibles and prayer books - my oldest one being 1823. They are reasonably in-expensive in old book shops because people do not like destroying them. One, a Ladies bible is TINY, and would have been kept inside a muff or tiny handbag - the print is almost unreadable without a magnifying glass!

You are right Kafene...it is a violin and dont remember having a date but the label of the manufacturer...and from what I know the manufacturer is dead so it must be an old violin. Next time i will be in Cyprus and I will have time for a journey to Paphos I will contact you if you dont mind.
