Regarding the qustion
A TC can sell his/her land in the south if he/she left Cyprus before 1974.
If he left after 74 or is living in the north, you must reside in the south for at least 6 months before you can apply to have your property given back to you.
A GC can apply at a the property commission in the north, after applying you can end up with different situations,
1. You can sell your property to the TRNC gov.
2. Have it switched with a TC property in the south
3.It may be given back, if it is not in a military zone or has not been given to another TC as compensation for land lost in the south. If you choose to take it back you can only claim it after a settlement to the cyprus problem.
I don't know if there are other alternatives, these are just some of the cases I've heard about.
