They are not ignorant of this non-recognition fact ... because this quote is from the DEFRA government site which they link on their sham "pet kennels in the trnc".

The EU does not recognise the area of Cyprus to the north of the buffer zone. Therefore, under EU Regulation 998/2003, that part of Cyprus is regarded as a non-qualifying third country and the UK is obliged to treat it exactly the same as all other non-qualifying third countries.

I don't know who this DEFRA is but they got their wording wrong because it should read...

"The EU does not recognize the ADMINISTRATION of the area of Cyprus to the north of the buffer zone."

...and not the area itself which IS regarded as part of the EU.

Well if it is that important ... should I contact them.

DEFRA is the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and is a UK Government Department.
The Minister is (my favourite chap who will be PM after labour lose the next election, then get back in again) the Rt. Hon. Hilary Benn (son of our friend Sir Tony Benn) who is the Secretary of State.

.... and check on imposing stricter rules to prevent the introduction of Rabies to Cyprus by these unrecognised illegitimates!

According to the DEFRA information available on their site, I gather, that is just a technicality because of quarantine requirements:

It appears it is the administration over the north which is not recognised for implementing the safeguards needed for quarantine laws. Hence the north for these purposes is placed in a special group called "non-qualifying" countries even though the territory is EU.

So effectively pets/other animals visiting the north would be treated the same as those visiting any other "non-qualifying" countries for entry of animals to the UK; which means they would face 6 months quarantine should those owners (# see below) wish to return to the UK.

Similarly if any of the owners (#) wish to visit the south with their pets they would face 6 months quarantine as imposed by the RoC because the RoC administration is recognised not only as EU, but also a "qualifying" country for the pet travel schemes operative within most other EU countries.

(#) It is the pets that would face the 6 month quarantine not the owners

This is living proof that Greeks/GCs do what they do best, find any old excuse to disrupt a peaceful thread by hijacking it and trying to scare people to stay away from the TRNC.

Oracle is doing a grand job of exposing the liers (Ros and chan) that they are by mis informing the general public into thinking all is well with their pets when in actual fact THEY are NOT.

Imagine some poor sole coming to the Northern illegally occupied areas and wanting to cross inot the legally recognised south and their poor pets left roasting for 6 months in some god forsaken hole in some obscure village in the middle of nowhere.

No sir, they are wrong and it is a good job Oracle is on their case too!

first of all you must learn to have respect our rights , we have rights to live , to sell our properties or do hotels or make houses on them . tyey are own lands . your ones will be solved out with Cyprus Solution plans .Now they are trying to find solution for it . Every thing is on the table now .
like what the GC's does at South , i have a rights to do anything at our TC's lands at North . TC's will do what ever they can do at their lands at south after the solution .The way they are waiting . You should also wait .
We never complain what you are doing at your place in south as long as GC's properties .

To control the animals we have all controlling mechanisms do not worry .we are aware of everything .You can not judge all the people in north by individuals doings . Before anything gets in to the island it ii always controlled at airports . Also animals are controlling by veterinarians
no one wants to take own lives in danger . we are all educated enough ,we don't need teachers ...thanks
