When I come, you better have some agrelli ready otherwise I will not forgive you for the torture. Fried with eggs and olives.

But why boil them first? The bitterness is good for you. Here, I boil the Asparagus and drink the water after its been in the fridge. Its wonderful. You should try it Halil.

There are several caves in Northern Cyprus that you are free to explore. One known as the Hot Cave, north of Ağırdağ village on the southern slopes of the Kyrenia mountains, is a partially collapsed natural formation. Warm air emanates from the cave, hence the name. Do not attept to enter the cave.

Village is also known as Agirda, Agirdag, Agirta, Agridhi, Ağirda, Ağırdağ .

location of the village is :latitude. 35.2875°, longitude. 33.2666667°

from Ağırdağ to:

Kömürcü (Keumurju) (1.1Km)
Pinarbaşı (Krini ) (3.3Km)
GÖÇERİ (Pileri9 (5.8Km) )
Dağyolu (Photta ) (6Km )

Battle of Agridi took place in this village.
Gastria was one of the fortresses of the Templars. The date of its foundation is not known (possibly 1191/2) but it was certainly one of the oldest castles in Cyprus. In 1232, after the battle of Agridi (Turks: Agirdag), in which the royal army had inflicted a most costly defeat on the supporters of the German Emperor Frederick II, some of the leading members of the nobility who had sided with the Emperor fled from the battlefield as far as Gastria. According to Philip of Novara they were 'Walter of Manopello and the son of the Justiciar and their following' (2). They knocked on the door of the castle but it remained shut. The Templars remembered how badly Frederick II's supporters had behaved in Nicosia; the very people who were now begging refuge from them had not long before sacked the headquarters of the Temple and carried off by force the women and children who had taken refuge there. Walter and his companions were obliged to hide. While they were encamped at the bottom of the moat, the Templars sent warning of their presence to King Henry and the Lord of Beirut. The latter sent to Gastria the young John of Ibelin, later Count of Jaffa, with a body of cavalry; he took the rebels prisoner and brought them to Nicosia where they were thrown into the same prison as their friends who had been captured on the battlefield of Agridi (3).

In 1308 Gastria was treated the same as the other possessions of the Templars; the castle was confiscated and handed over to the Order of the Hospital (4).

They are not ignorant of this non-recognition fact ... because this quote is from the DEFRA government site which they link on their sham "pet kennels in the trnc".

DEFRA-UK.gov wrote:The EU does not recognise the area of Cyprus to the north of the buffer zone. Therefore, under EU Regulation 998/2003, that part of Cyprus is regarded as a non-qualifying third country and the UK is obliged to treat it exactly the same as all other non-qualifying third countries.

I don't know who this DEFRA is but they got their wording wrong because it should read...

"The EU does not recognize the ADMINISTRATION of the area of Cyprus to the north of the buffer zone."

...and not the area itself which IS regarded as part of the EU.

Well if it is that important ... should I contact them. :?

DEFRA is the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and is a UK Government Department.
The Minister is (my favourite chap 8) who will be PM after labour lose the next election, then get back in again) the Rt. Hon. Hilary Benn (son of our friend Sir Tony Benn) who is the Secretary of State.

.... and check on imposing stricter rules to prevent the introduction of Rabies to Cyprus by these unrecognised illegitimates!

According to the DEFRA information available on their site, I gather, that is just a technicality because of quarantine requirements:

It appears it is the administration over the north which is not recognised for implementing the safeguards needed for quarantine laws. Hence the north for these purposes is placed in a special group called "non-qualifying" countries even though the territory is EU.

So effectively pets/other animals visiting the north would be treated the same as those visiting any other "non-qualifying" countries for entry of animals to the UK; which means they would face 6 months quarantine should those owners (# see below) wish to return to the UK.

Similarly if any of the owners (#) wish to visit the south with their pets they would face 6 months quarantine as imposed by the RoC because the RoC administration is recognised not only as EU, but also a "qualifying" country for the pet travel schemes operative within most other EU countries.

(#) It is the pets that would face the 6 month quarantine not the owners :D

halil,

Oracle is doing a grand job of exposing the liers (Ros and chan) that they are by mis informing the general public into thinking all is well with their pets when in actual fact THEY are NOT.

Imagine some poor sole coming to the Northern illegally occupied areas and wanting to cross inot the legally recognised south and their poor pets left roasting for 6 months in some god forsaken hole in some obscure village in the middle of nowhere.

No sir, they are wrong and it is a good job Oracle is on their case too!

I wouldn't worry so much Pantheman, because only morons as yourself would not know that you can't simply bring in pets into the EU from outside, and what are the chances of finding other morons such as yourself?

Not much i tell you, not much

Pantheman, thanks for putting halil in his place regarding his advertising to sell off the north, and thwarting all attempts by others to provide balanced information.

But it is because the north is not recognised as capable of the administration required to be placed within the qualifying countries, that subsequently pets face 6 months quarantine, when they enter any of the qualifying countries, U.K., Cyprus (genuine RoC), etc.

In the north they only impose 3 to 4 weeks and they are not trusted to maintain the strict requirements of DEFRA to then allow entry or re-entry after visiting the north, without imposition of the 6 month quarantine.

In other words the RoC has to maintain even greater vigilance that this unrecognised, non-qualifying "trnc" set-up, does not inadvertently allow the introduction of Rabies into Cyprus due to their untrustworthy slapdash methods.
