Well said humanist, I'm with you 100% on that one. Husky's have 2 coats.. first is a thick fur (which keeps them warm from the -60C weather they can survive in) The top layer is a coarse hair.. I'm sorry.. but anyone walking around Cyprus with say 2 winter jumpers on (equivilient to dogs fur maybe) would find them self in hospital with heat exhaustion very quickly. Not to mention he says he will have the dog inside in AC all the time.. well this isn't going to mix well with a husky breed either, they are dogs that need TONS of excercise. A home with a huge farm or garden to run in is what this breed of dog needs. They're a strong dog, and if they're just left in a flat with AC and no doubt cheap dog food and table scraps, i can see this dog turning extremely fat and then where is the owner? doesn't want to show off a fat husky anymore does he? lol
anyways i'm rambling, off to work

Huskies found...

Postby pjabbott » Thu Jan 31, 2008 3:02 pm

I have seen quite a few Huskies in Cyprus, although not all are pups. There is a beautiful Malamute, who is about 5, at the Paphos Shelter and at least 2 young Siberian huskies at the UN shelter in Nicosia (info is 2-weeks old). One of them has a great temperament, is about 1-2 years old but will need some feeding to get back to health. I took her for a run and she has a fluid movement and was great with my little girl. Best of luck.
