Norton A/V

Postby Hazza » Sun Jan 13, 2008 4:54 pm

I've always had a problem with Norton Anti-Virus, slowing my machine down at the wrong time, clashes with other software, almost impossible to uninstall etc.

With my new machine, I got Norton Corporation with it thrown in, but not installed, just the original CD.

How different is the corporation version to the normal version? Is it still as arsey, or is it actually an improvement?

If its better, then I'll install it. If not, then I'll get NOD32 which I rate anyway.

Norton missed some 10% of viruses. Kaspersky is my number 1 preference, Bitdefender is equally good, NOD32 also misses some 2-3% viruses so it comes 3rd. Shit Bitdefender even deleted the virus I designed myself.

The most disgusting thing about antivirus software is when they create their own viruses and then tell you "hey I found a virus for you". I mean how low can a company get to sell something.

So the general feeling is to install Norton then

Thanks for your replies guys 'n gals. You all confirmed what I already suspected, so Norton will stay uninstalled.

NOD32 it is then.
