“The country is on sale”

Forest area in occupied Trikomo to be sold to Turkish companies
Turkish Cypriot daily Ortam newspaper (08.01.08 ) under banner headlines in its front page: “The country is on sale”, reports that the so-called ruling coalition is trying to give 169 donums of forest area belonging to the occupied Trikomo municipality to KOTITAS company. The paper further adds that the remaining land will be given to the Letonya Tourism Company, registered in Antalya, southern Turkey, whose owner is a close relative of Abdullatif Sener, who was former State Minister responsible for Cyprus Affairs in the previous Erdogan government in Turkey.

Will you all please just stop calling it the ANNAN plan, everyone and his dog knows it was the ANKARA PLAN, or was it the AMERICAN Plan, eitherway, it adds up to the same thing. You wanted us to sign over our rights just to keep mummy happy.

Typical Turks.

Trikomo is the birthplace of Grivas, it's at the base of the panhandle inland from Bogazi. My father's stolen house is actually between the two places at a place called Trigazi. A chap called Stamatis used to have a coffee shop there. Nice bloke, his son married my sister. He never wore shoes - his feet were so hard I reckon he could bang nails in with them. He did most of the cooking on primus stoves, his place has fallen down now, it was just a ruin last time I saw it.
