How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby purdey » Thu Feb 07, 2008 11:57 am

Legality is an issue concerning the Cypriots. My point is what are we doing there if we are not wanted. It only causes problems,we have no intention of getting involved in Cypriot sqabbles,so why are we there ?

Purdey, the 1959 Independence Agreement was signed by Archbishop Makarios III on behalf of the Cypriot people. It was also agreed to by H.M. Government.

Times change Aidan,we are not welcome in Cyprus. Why put up with decent from Cypriots and veiled threats from electioneering Pappy.Pull out give it all back and let the Cypriots get on with it.
It is of no consequence to the British taxpayer.

Are the bases in Germany also responsible for the German economy?

you never know with these SBA's. I heard that wherever one of those British Sergeants sits his arse down, watermelons filled with wads of cash immediately sprout out. Lets not forget that thanks to those Harrier Jets wizzing around we haven't had any clouds over Cyprus for the past 20 years making it such a lovely summer destination.

I think the cats at the “Agios Nikolaos ton Gaton” or also known as the "Nikolaos the Cat" Monastery near the base in Limassol are not too happy with all the noise the Jets makes either..
