35000 GCs volunteered for service with the British during WWII, some were decorated for valor and many died in the battles of El Alamein and Rimini. How many Turks and TCs volunteered to fight the Nazis? Anyone have figures? I know some TCs did, but not exact numbers.

I am all for getting rid of the bases.Why should our troops be in Cyprus.We are not welcome nor considered to be of any use.
I would also like to see the UN pull out of Cyprus,they serve no purpose,they could be used in other parts of the world where they are needed.Let the Cypriots sought out there own problems if they want to fight so be it,let them get on with it.
Please,this time though no handing out of British passports on mass.

Purdey,you should have read the text of the 1959 Independence Agreement,which legalises the S.B.A.s' status as being like British colonies before you opened your big mouth.
