I think it is. The UK should know that their support to Turkey against us will not be without a cost for them.

They got the bases because they were supposedly a guarantor that guaranteed the independence and sovereignty of our country. Not only they didn't do that, but on the contrary they collaborated with Turkey to violate the sovereignty of Cyprus.

Did not Germany say similar things to Turkey a little while before the UK and where is the animosity on this forum for Germany. I do not see any condemnation on this forum or indeed in the press (well apart from the Cyprus Mail who did mention it) for the Germans who have gone along similar lines??

Germany didn't sign a piece of paper saying they'd defend the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Cyprus...the UK did.

200 EOKA peasants beat 45000 British soldiers! Do you really believe this Nikitas? Gosh, they did better than Leonidas at Thermopylai.

iWELL SAID ... have to agree on this information ,,,I MET SOME OF THEM TODAY FOR A NICE CHAT ...being somewhat unsurprised two of them told me they were paid a certain polilitical group and politician,,,(1 GUESS WHO ) OK .,,,some of them were communists and others facists but all very confused students ....paid ,i repeat ....paid ...

cypriots need to wake up ,..cyprus is the cross roads for these nations

may i also point out that many greek and turkish cypriots work and benefit from the excellent facitlies and structured staff/skills development programs offered by the British/U.N /U.S here in cyprus

CYTA itself has 28million development contract with H.M.AKROTIRI ....

So before we start telling the brits to leave ...remember the 1000s who work there ,..and might i add are probably the only cypriots on the island who get a wage that actually goes up with inflation and yearly adjustments unlike 65% of the southern population ,who have been recieving the same wage for 10 years

now everyone ...vote DISY/KATSOLIDIES .....

OXI TO COMMIES ,DIKO ..THIEVES .,...

you know as well as i do that a cetain politician and two of the parties share the views of this guy and both push and prod students ,,you disagree ,,,are you saying political money didnt find its way to these kids ,,,come on smell the coffee ,,,election is 2 months away ,,,,anyway

come whos the mack

Sweetie pie, in Cyprus and the Greek world in general, we have a nasty habit of blaming everybody else, except ourselves, for all our shortcomings. We see conspirators everywhere, all trying to destroy us and here we are, fighting the evil forces of the world single handed, against all odds. At present it suits us quite nicely to lay the blame on the dreaded angloamericans and the "foreigners" in general. There is even a song that is part of Papadopoulos's campaign for the elections and which is played daily on all radios (he is spending millions, by the way). The song says that "the foreigners do not want him but his people do".

Just to come back to the fascist gathering at Akrotiri, I would like to clear one thing. As long as the extremists keep their ideas to the theoretical level, I have no problem. Its when they try to implement them that all level headed people should worry. These people do not suggest ways to solve an issue (ie the British Bases in Cyprus) but they finger point guilty people. On a macro scale they normally point their fingers at the Jews but now the fashion is to show the Angloamericans. Also, in Greece and in Cyprus they have begun to target the economic migrants. For the extreme right, the whole history is nothing but a big conspiracy of the Zionists. There are no people, no mass movements, policies, politicians and aspirations. There is an invincible Council that governs the fates of people and countries.

I long for the time our society will grow up but at the moment I am sick of consiracy theories that play sweet music in the ears of the simpletons.

If you don't see that there are foreign troops on our island then not only you are simpleton but totally blind. You don't need any "conspiracy theory" to see this fact. Just get in your car and drive for 30 minutes!!

Or maybe it is our fault that those foreigners have their troops here?

For Bananiot "extremism" is when people demonstrate demanding the freedom of their own land, not when troops from a country 2000 miles away from ours occupy parts of our island to serve their own interests.

I am sick of masochists who have no trace of decency and like to kiss assess.

Really?

So what did we "sow" when the Turks first came to our island butchering Cypriots by the 10s of thousands?
What did we "sow" when the British came?

Come on VP, cut the crap. Here we are talking about expansionism of colonial powers against small Cyprus, and trying to blame Cypriots for it is redicoulous.

What you should pay attention is the crimes and illegalities that you "sow" in our island, and be sure the time that you will "reap" the results will come.

You have always been a conquered and ruled people, the only chance you got to sow anything was in 1960 and what you reeped was division not unity, just like back then, today you promote division and mistrust between the 2 communities.

We were never given the chance to "sow" anything. For that to happen those that conquered and rule our island should first piss off. That is what we are fighting for, and we will continue to fight.

About the promotion of division this has been your official policy since the 50s, so it is funny that you accuse us about it.

Do you now deny your signature on the agreement, if you object so much why do you not now ask for its annulment?

You were not given free range to do what you want, thats why you are still crying about not having a chance to sow anything, its the GC way or noway just like the AP, you didnt get your way so you said no, well any future plan will be even worse for GCs and this time you may not have the right to say no.
