netgear 314 ,,,,its 4 years old now ,,,and i think its struggeling ,,,,name me a model you recommend before i have scour the web ,,,,,i have to use a signal booster with it lately ,,,,,,its suffering ,,,time to retire it

If the wireless router works, why change it...If the signal is weak, then just use a booster...

Electronics have two stages...working or not working...Mechanics have multiple stages...

The only time you change your electronic goods is when you want better performance...

So look for the latest from Netgear for better performance...I am not sure what is the best model as individual needs differ from situation to situation...hence why they make a large range...

Bloody windows thats what. I am not that good at computers but with my brothers help I can now put a computer together and install windows. I have never had that bastard system load the same way twice. It gives me a surprise every time let alone the running of it. It's ok for you techies because problem solving seems to be something you enjoy and boy do you get a load of it with windows. Add to that a zillion viruses just connecting to the NET and the amount of money I had to spend on Virus removers because the Virus protection found a new virus but could not delete or disable it and I had had enough. The Mac is much more stable and doesn't get these Viruses. I just can't find anywhere that gives you good enough instruction on how to use it. There are trendy Cafe type areas in the store where you can go and learn but the nearest to me is too far to go and the time would cripple me. It is a bit of a mystery to me ,this machine, but it does what it says on the box.

i dont agree ,,,,wireless devices tend to loose the antenna power after 3 years ,,,also dont forget in cyprus houses are more solid more iron (my house is very strong )

tell you what .,,,,over the past few weeks it doesnt resolve any ip/dns/websites to the UK ,,,NOTHING ,,i can look at pages to the web via direct connection to cyta box but via the router nothing ,i have reset the device and step by step redesigned the dhcp function but nothing ,.every other page from the web fine ,,,,anythign from the UK ,,,doesnt resolve (i have 4 pcs ,,2 laptops ) is my netgear anti british .,,,,,,

and which GPU are you using that uses 2GB of memory?

and you mentioned dual...would that be 2 VGA cards in SLI or a single one that has 2GB of memory?...

and if you are running SLI, are they running 8x slots or 16x slots or the latest PCIx 2.0 that runs 32x ?... my guess is you got a single VGA card, a GeForce 8800GTS or an ULTRA running 16x...while pseudo dual GPUs, only run 768MB...Well you could have 2 of these but I highly doubt it. Your forum profile don't strike me as one of a hardcore gamer...Your Alienware motherbloard would probably be using the nVidia i680 chipset, coz it was the only chipset that actually runs 2 SLI slots at 16x each...It has been superceded by the i780 chipset...PCIx 2.0 which runs at 32x PCIx slots...Using 2 PCIx slots only maximazes your graphics performance by 25% - 30% and does not double it as others would make you believe...

Personally I use a nVidia Quadro FX 4500 X2 ...you would do well to look it up...and until recently I had 2 of these monsters...

The reason you own alienware, which is owned by DELL is because you are unable to put a box together yourself...coz if you did you could do a better job with less money and a faster PC to boot

Great Britain used to be a super power with Crown colonies all over the world. Some attained independence smoothly and others after a battle.
The Commonwealth (of which the Queen is head) is a voluntary association of 53 independent sovereign states, most of which are former British colonies (the exceptions being the United Kingdom itself and Mozambique). Sovereign states have to apply to join and of course Cyprus applied to join in 1961 not long after its independence. Considering that there is so much animosity on this board towards the UK it seems slightly at odds that Cyprus wished to become a member of a body that has the Queen of the United Kingdom at its head.

I think it is. The UK should know that their support to Turkey against us will not be without a cost for them.

They got the bases because they were supposedly a guarantor that guaranteed the independence and sovereignty of our country. Not only they didn't do that, but on the contrary they collaborated with Turkey to violate the sovereignty of Cyprus.

Did not Germany say similar things to Turkey a little while before the UK and where is the animosity on this forum for Germany. I do not see any condemnation on this forum or indeed in the press (well apart from the Cyprus Mail who did mention it) for the Germans who have gone along similar lines??
