Church taking Turkey to rights court

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Nikitas » Sat Jan 05, 2008 7:51 pm

The irony of it all is that if the TC side were to let go of this bazaar mentality, one for one type of deal, and agree to the church restoration they would gain substantial points in GC public opinion. Instead they, through the mufti, insist on a trade, you fix one mosque we let you fix one church arrangement, which shows how little they understand of the other side. It is another PR failure like many we had before from both sides.

Zan,

I don't believe you are such am empty person to condone such acts.

We both agree that there were mass killings on both sides right, so come on don't keep on playing that card mate, its sounds like the broken record it is.

Bottom line is, do you honestly agree with such actions that Turkey has taken against us? Really ? Any, sensible, logical thinking person would or should be discusted at such acts. I would be upset if any place of worship was desacrated like these have been.

Come on, you must at least see that much. Just cut out the playground arguements and answer me honestly on this one.

Do You agree with the way our churches have been treated ?

You honest answer is most welcome.

Your beliefs are right mate and it breaks my heart to see these buildings destroyed but it also breaks my heart to see you guys put these buildings in front of he TC people as a matter of importance. The lack of money for such projects is the real deal and if tourism was allowed then these would be restored without a moments hesitation I am sure. The fact that you guys are taking he situation and seeing something else is the saddest part. I love Churches as buildings and appreciate what hey stand or as well but the crocodile tears of some on this subject is sickening.

Typical Zanman response, blame the Greek Cypriots. It costs nothing to leave the churches alone and not loot them. You could have just locked them up in 1974 and either let them fall down or allow GCs maintenence access, alternatively you could have used the proceeds of the stolen icons to repair them yourselves, CRETIN!

I do agree with Jerry and I think they should of did just that and locked them up instead of looting them. Thats a terrible thing to do and I certainly feel ashamed about it...seriously! What were they thinking when they sat there and allowed it to happen? :(

Oh right.......While those that bomb and shoot each other in the south always pay their taxes.......The point was...As you obviously missed it.....The churches are not the priority. So simple that even you should be able to get it.......The looting.........How is it that the USA has been asked to stop the trade of Cypriot coins that come from the "RoC" side of the island then......Wasn't it Matsakis that had hundreds of relics in his possession as well and was arrested for it.....How soon they forget....    You people make me laugh...Hold us under siege for 40 years plus and expect us to sit about in our tents and rot........Not going o happen baby...We waited for years for you to come to your senses and now the gloves are off......No siege no embargoes no isolation.......Worry about your churches and shed crocodile tears at our leasure....Even those that have not even set foot in a church except for weddings.......

I was only boo-ing the attitude Zan ... and more because it didn't sound like you in your right frame of mind.

Of course I would abhor any desecration of any Cultural history . . . but I am not aware of any Mosques deliberately ruined ...

Haven't got much time for idiots and propaganda this weekend Phoenix. It started with a bad headache and that moron Rebelwithoutabrain. You need to research how much was acatually destroyed both in the 60s and 74. Homes, Mosques and whole orchards.
